Yes, these are micro-progress in the field. It has nothing to do with a great offensive.
Of course, for this positional war, the Russians' progress is quite fast. However, this has nothing to do with a great offensive.
Unless this is a big offensive for you.

This doesn't look like a great offensive by any stretch of the imagination, but there was just a video posted of Russia putting up a flag in old Donetsk Soviet AD base "Zenit" (hopefully for good this time).

With changing areas of extra pressure. As soon as the Ukros try to plug some holes,
the pressure is increased in another area. This forces the Banderites to constantly shift
units from A to B and then to C which puts them into the open. Easy targets.

They are out of trained men.
More so they are out of officers.
They only got leftovers from the previous four armies.
No AD.
Short on ammo.
There will be no next Ukro offensive.

Looks like a massacre, they had the chance to surrender. Seems like the Azov 3rd assault brigade refused to carry out the order to go inside Avdeevka and die but are maybe trying to protect the flanks to help the retreat.

Ukrainians are now trying to counterattack on the flanks - probably to get their comrades out of the cauldron - fierce fighting is going on - also in the eastern parts - a battle for retreat I suppose

- STARLINK is still jammed
- drone teams and EW are working
- a tank reserve is held around the airport -  but for now more or less only infantry is engaged.

Air force is pounding the Zitadell (9th quarter) - and the coke plant - from where a massive attack along the main road is going on.

It is said this night will be a massacre - Russians try all to close the pincer "no one should escape" is the parole.

That would be a pretty sensible sacking.

any advances towards the direction of odessa would be great news only for the fact that they won't be hitting ships if that city is captured.

It's a turkey shoot, again. The casualties must be immense, VKS is bombing relentlessly (hundreds of Orthodox JDAMskis today, over 50 in the last hour and a half) and artillery has been ramped up a lot over the past few week's "baseline".

Rumors have it that the only tangible gain UA made during its entire "counter-offensive", Rabotino is in for the same treatment now. The sailent has been a fire bag the entire time, constantly incurring UA losses, but UA has kept reinforcing it (similar to the so-called Krynki "beachhead", an ongoing exercise in futility, for social media points). Now RU is supposedly prepping to close the cauldron.

So in other words, Belgorod or Bryansk or some other Russian city close-ish to Ukraine should expect random terror shelling tomorrow. Already saw some earlier today with 7 civs killed at a shopping mall in Belgorod.

Or they just go for Donetsk again, of course.
