Russian special military operation in Ukraine #5

The Russian Defense Ministry has officially announced that the city of Volnovakha (between Donetsk and Mariupol), one of the key defense points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the east of the country, is now completely under the control of Russian and DPR units. The DPR also took control of Olginka, Velyka-Anadol and Zelenyi Gai settlements. Advancement in depth in this section of the front was up to 6 kilometers.

This key event of the last days of the war means a collapse of the Ukrainian forces in the region and seizure of Mariupol in the coming days.

Four days ago, Ukrainian President Zelensky awarded the town the title of a Hero-City of Ukraine for “worthy resistance to armed aggression. The city was used to house the Kiev regime’s most odious nationalist units, which were repeatedly accused of mass torture and murder of the region’s Russian-speaking residents.

On the morning of March 11, Russian long-range precision-guided weapons struck Ukrainian military infrastructure, including military airfields in Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk in the west of the country.

Russian Armed Forces units continued their offensive, advancing 17 kilometers.

The target in Lutsk was reportedly the "Motor" plant, which is the only remaining enterprise in Ukraine that services and overhauls MiG-29 engines.

Also, a Tupolev drone (141/143) seems to have flown all the way to Zagreb, Croatia. No joke. Crashed there late last night with its recovery parachutes deployed. No injuries reported, but a lot of surprised Croatian faces for sure.

This will be interesting to see what it's about. My first thoughts are 1. Ukrainian attempt to get NATO involved somehow, or 2. a Russian decoy that was supposed to bait Ukrainian SAMs but that somehow flew all the way through. It had to have been launched from Belarus in that case, as its range is not sufficient to reach Croatia from the Russian mainland. From Ukraine it has enough range.

Either way, it must also have flown through an entire NATO country in the first place (Hungary, Romania) to have reached Croatia (also NATO). So that makes me wonder about the state of the air defenses there.

I would make sure any NATO weapons captured are given to Terror groups and criminal gangs in the west. The government's there can get a taste of their own medicine. And then once weapons are found, seized, etc they will only have themselves to blame.

Let's be truthful here most of these weapons will end up on the black market. To say they will end up in terrorists hands, well it's too late for that they currently are in terrorists hands Ukrainian Nazi squads. The west never learns from this tactic. Let me hope stingers start taking down EU presidential aircraft.
