in this kind of war, even if russia "wins" it will still do what they wanted ,slow down russia economy because of the sanctons.. and putin knows this..  LAvrov is on record saying during 2015 war ,when poroshenko was president that kiev was doing everything possible they could ,to lure russian army into invading ukraine.  so the invasion was something the west planned.  the only thing however they hoped ,is that Russia military performance was far worse ,and with many planes shot down , exactly the same thing in syria.. they hoped to give a vietnam to russia in syria and in ukraine too. but even if this don't happen, this still weaken /slowdown russia economy.. so is a win anyway for NATO.

the west will never stop the fighting against russia. and for russia government is clear that the west will continue attacking ,so if russia can't ever restore relations with the west , at very least they need to control key land routes for the future conflicts that NATO will provoke. Like serbia and transnistria ,but also venezuela ,mexico , or even kalinigrad and belarus. so russia will rather not allow nato to fortify anywhere of its borders. and leave prepared ukraine for complete control of it , or most of it ,to prevent nato from rearming ukraine or blocking russia from any passway towards western europe.

Because sanctions will never end.. the west will not accept russia to stop their ukraine nazi nuclear armed project, Then effectively is better and more safer now for russia , with ukraine disarmed and nazis in the run ,that way will not have nuke ukraine if they supplied by nato nuclear weapons.

During the fighting on the territory of Ukraine, Russian Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District of the Russian Federation, died.

According to "Nastoyashcheye vremya, earlier his death was reported on social networks, in particular, Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent Alexander Kots wrote that Sukhovetsky died during the fighting on the territory of Ukraine.

They had mass desertions prior to current events, and they even demanded pregnant women to serve on the front lines because of how bad their mobilization efforts were.

Combine that with the prospect of Banderite Nazi vermin holding whole civilian population centers hostage, and you get mobilization morale sinking to the 9th level of Hell!  

BTW Russian forces do not need to engage in ground assaults on every major city, they could just as easily starve them out while keeping them surrounded and under siege. No doubt the Banderite vermin will likely selfishly horde food supplies away from civilians just like FSA murderhobo vermin did in Syria...but good look getting the locals to fight on your side afterwards. Seems like a likely scenario/strategy by Russian forces to get public support to turn on the Banderite cockroaches!

Unless those called up are veterans, its just going to be a lot of cannon fodder. I feel bad for the people of Ukraine, but I don't have any sorrow for the Ukrainian fascists.

With demilitarization I am not so sure, weapons are still flooding into Ukraine. Not sure if they will be used or not. Scared about some of them going into black market after the war. Both Russian and EU criminals will get grenades, assault rifles and etc. It will be impossible to stop this contraband like during the Balkan wars.

In my opinion - Ukrainians will get the identical gov as before. It can't be other way. Same oligarchs run the show and they will come back. Like during the Yanukovitch era, you can see that oligarchs can change their allegiance on a whim and... people are ok with this.

I am probably naive, but look who is behind nazi organizations and who uses them as a muscle. After all of this is settled, oligarchs will find another muscle, this time could be police or some silly organization that slips through the gaps and has less bad PR. Serbians still hate the west because of that and it's been decades. In the end, I wish that all Europe and Russia to be working towards the benefit of their people, developing science, medicine, exploring space, trading and learning from each other. Not only you, but I also have some connections with Ukraine. We lived in Berdiansk when my father was serving in aviation and my childhood friends are from there. I can't find them on VK or odniklasniki as I don't remember their surnames and I hope they are OK. This city was taken on 27th. My father tries not to follow this conflict, but at least he got some relief that place, where we lived, wasn't bombed to shit and people instead of throwing molotovs are protesting. Unlike most of the westerners, we don't want Ukrainians to fight for the last man trying to throw paint balloons or molotovs ad military vehicles...

We also have family in Russia and **** knows when we will see them, financially they should be ok at least.
