The third frigate of project 22350 "Admiral Golovko" is planned to be handed over to the Russian Navy in the second quarter of 2023. This was announced on Thursday, March 2, by TASS at Severnaya Verf, which built the ship.





The third Project 22350 frigate, Admiral Golovko, was laid down at Severnaya Verf in February 2012 and launched in May 2020. In February 2022, it became known about the start of training for the Admiral Golovko crew at the Joint Training Center of the Navy in St. Petersburg. Factory sea trials (ZHI) started at the end of November.

The second stage of the ZHI began at the end of 2022.

At the end of January 2023, a TASS source close to the military-industrial complex claimed that the ship would be handed over to the fleet in March.

"Admiral Golovko" became the first project 22350 ship equipped with a gas turbine unit (GTU) of Russian design. The frigates "Admiral Gorshkov" and "Admiral Kasatonov", which were put into operation earlier, use gas turbines manufactured by the Ukrainian enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt as afterburner engines.

The frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" completed the tasks of a long-range voyage in the Mediterranean Sea and entered the Atlantic




The frigate of the Northern Fleet "Admiral Fleet Kasatonov", which has been operating in the Mediterranean Sea since February 2022, entered the Atlantic Ocean through the Strait of Gibraltar, accompanied by the medium sea tanker "Akademik Pashin".

The ship's crew successfully completed all the assigned tasks as part of the Russian Navy's permanent grouping in the Mediterranean Sea. In addition to directly solving long-range missions, the Severomorians improved their combat training and naval skills, having worked out dozens of naval exercises on air defense and anti-submarine defense.

During the campaign, which began on January 23 last year, the frigate "Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov" covered about 63 thousand nautical miles.

In the Atlantic Ocean, the crew of the frigate will continue to improve their naval skills and conduct a series of shipboard exercises. After completing all the assigned tasks, the ship will arrive at the main base of the Northern Fleet - Severomorsk.

"Today, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov crossed the equator in the Indian Ocean, moving in a northerly direction," the message says. According to the Northern Fleet, the first crossing of the equator took place in February.

As noted in the press service, during the long voyage, the ship passed three oceans, five seas and two strait zones. "Since leaving the main base of the Northern Fleet - the city of Severomorsk, Russian sailors have traveled more than 16,100 nautical miles," the message says.

Equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles, the frigate set off on a campaign on January 4, the ship’s entry into combat service was commanded by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In January, the Admiral Gorshkov conducted air defense exercises in the Norwegian Sea, and in February, it took part in the joint naval exercises of South Africa, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, codenamed Mozi.

He joined the Russian Navy in July 2018. In December 2022, he made an inter-fleet transition and arrived at the main base of the Northern Fleet - the city of Severomorsk - after scheduled maintenance at the Kronstadt Marine Plant.
