It was a lucrative system wherein the train personnel would take small and medium sized parcels and deliver them to the intended recipient at whatever stops the train was to meet. However, to the best of my knowledge this system was stopped in it's tracks by Russia train system about 4 years ago. If this article is true then the train worker must have had a very significant payment to risk delivering the items and will not spend a pretty significant amount of time counting trees.
