Watched ITV news on the TV tonight. They carried an interview of Sunak our PM in Washington. Asked if Russia blew the dam he responded along the lines of 'we don't know yet our and US intelligence are working on it'. This was 36 hours or so after the event.
Given the number of satellites over the country the US must have known almost the instant any explosion took place, if it did and would have known if it was the Ukrainians who did it. The US will also know the Russians have similar knowledge.
This is interesting as Sunak didn't just brush it of with 'it had to be the Russians they have been attacking civilians all along' but he said they were still checking. Are they planning to do a MH-17 stunt?

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak refuses to accuse Russia of undermining - ITV News
“Our security and military services are working to determine involvement. But if this is true Russia, if the bombing turns out to be deliberate, this will be a new low,” Sunak said.
Why didn't he say this?

The destruction of the Kakhovka dam today puts thousands of civilians at risk and causes severe environmental damage.
This is an outrageous act, which demonstrates once again the brutality of #Russia’s war in #Ukraine.
