From published photo of Chongar attack and poor quality internet map of Chongar Strait , I can say with some confidence that : The Storm - Shadow approached from North- West direction from Kherson city direction . Unlikely therefore that it came from the South or Sea- launched version . But unlike last time , no shooting down of launch Aircraft of Storm - Shadow reported , only shooting down of missile itself . Nor any retaliatory strikes reported on any Airfield runways , civilian or otherwise . Just strikes on Turbines or factory . This means that AD , could not intercept plane , nor Aircraft scrambled on time to intercept . Which indicate Ukrs using public Roads near frontlines , for quick take off and landing in a low mission profile . Look for hidden plane near Roads , near frontlines ? Also French writing on missile , indicate low stock levels , needing supply of French version .



Edit : Since Storm- shadow was hit by short range AD , probably as it gained altitude before dive on target , instead of longer range SAM , then makes sense for point defence of important target . Even if longer range SAM , detected at 200 km range , the launch plane at 200 meter altitude , that stay there for 15 seconds to fire cruise , then SAM missile takes 100 seconds to reach area , plane by then landed . The cruise missile too agile and low and slow for long range missile , probably flying over Roads and Sea flat area to keep low altitude , instead of bobbing up and down , gaining altitude and going over land , the last few seconds to correct path .

By August we should see Sherwood forest cleared, and RU go to the Oskol

From there a movement to Seversk and Slavyansk and Kramatorsk will be in a semi cauldron

From that point we will see cordon sanitaire operations to take advantage of other areas where Ukrainian units are ignoring

MOD will seize every opportunity where Ukraine has abandoned

It's a bad idea to mass forces in these conditions,  and Ukraine doing this operation goes against every concept of Modern War

They should have dispersed their forces and dug into defensive positions to prepare for the inevitable Russian offensive

In the current context, The cordon sanitaire could be introduced along the Bug River where Poland and Belarusian border near Lvov meet



It is possible for the general staff to introduce a cordon sanitaire along this line , similar to Afghanistan, and logistically feed them from Belarus

Multiple axis of attack would be needed near Chernigov, Sumy, Kiev, and maintain pressure in the south

But it would look like a ring or rather a half trapezoid, and the top line of the trapezoid would extend along the Belarusian border to Bryansk, Belgorod, to protect the border

ATACMS has 200km range, so the thickness of the cordon sanitaire can be 200km , and form a half trapezoid with nodes being cities , from Chernigov, Sumy, Kiev, Zhytomir, Lvov, and Kharkov

The Black sea provides a natural isolation barrier, and the carpathians also provide a natural border to prevent weapons from spilling to the nazis which undergo denazification
