Couldn't read the whole thread, sorry if it's been already discussed: I am getting more and more convinced that there won't be any Russian offensive. There will be (maybe soon) an Ukranian one, the Russians will just wait and grind, only after it they will push forward west.
Not sure I can call it an offensive, it will be more almost like a walk in the park with no opposition.

The use of OU in Ukraine will poison not only Ukraine. This stuff will get into the groundwater, and then into the Black Sea. Expect a surge of oncological diseases in the Black Sea states in the coming years. Some of these states are members of NATO. So Britain is actually preparing a diversion, including against NATO countries with the use of nuclear materials.

Why is Russia downloading the T-55 when the production of the T-90M is really booming? Plus repairs to the T-72B.

So, a video of tanks being shuttled to some place else is supposed to be proof that the Russians are going to be using these vehicles in combat?
Make it make sense. Those vehicles are clearly not fitted out for combat. Where's the mandatory after market upgrades like ERA and new thermals? (they clearly still have the IR lamp) Where are signs of ownership like external personal gear for the crew or graffitis Z markings?

The last BMP-3 has the marking 49 pieces. The question is since when counted from the beginning of the year probably. Since January 49, the BMP 3 is not so much compared to the production of the T-90M, for example, there is a huge difference. Unless it's from the beginning of the month.

Arrow, has it occured to you that Russia'z T-55s may be leftovers from Warsaw Pact states still reluctant to give up all their useful tanks? I know Bulgaria, Romania, had Red Star ish roundels and I think Hungary did too. It makes for great false concern troll propaganda ops against Russia but it is quite possibly projection.

The Black Sea Fleet repelled an attack by sea drones in Sevastopol. This was announced by the city's governor Mikhail Razvozhaev on Wednesday, March 22.
"In the early morning, our fleet repelled an attack by surface drones. In total, three objects have been destroyed by this hour. They tried to enter the bay, and our sailors fired small arms fire at them. The air defense system also worked on an air target. The warships were not damaged, " he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Razvozhaev added that the explosions of destroyed naval drones in buildings on Lenin Street broke windows. There were no casualties, the governor specified.
According to him, monitoring of the situation continues, all operational services are in a state of readiness.
Earlier, on the night of March 21, drones were shot down near Dzhankoy in the Republic of Crimea, the air defense system worked. As the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov informed, one person was injured as a result. According to the head of the city of Dzhankoy Igor Ivin, the wreckage of drones was found on two streets. In addition, a grocery store caught fire in the city center near the school, and a private house on Yuzhnaya Street was damaged.
After that, the mayor of Ivin announced the introduction of a municipal emergency in Dzhankoy. He also stressed that the victims are entitled to compensation from the reserve fund.

^^ t-55 tanks? why not? Everything is going to the front now-days, even mutant MTLBs. I can see them being used as assault guns.
And about DU rounds- I agree this is western provocation. But Russia shouldn’t overreact. They won’t change anything in the battlefield.
And if you are worried about pollution and lasting effects… well, Ukrainians had Azovstal that was poisoning Mariupol and nearby waters. They are willing to destroy dams and flood chemical factories, they are shitting mines without marking them left and right… They are willing to shell NPP.
DU contamination is least of a problem right now. Kids will step on mines and uxo, they will get poisoned by chemicals and various pollutants… Russia has experience clearing nuclear waste and tanks and these events could be localised, but what about mines in endless fields and destroyed ecosystem with rivers being poisoned by “conventional” means. Azot is already leaking nitrogen and amonia, Lychychnyanks oil refinery is compromised, Adiivka coke and chemical plant disaster is not even cleaned up from like 2017…
From the looks of it, cleaning works will take, I bet western support will not be a thing as they don’t care.

A T-55 tank has also survived a war in Syria for many years. It's a tank. A heavy piece of steel that can very painfully use his weapon or block the enemy with it. More than useful in the rear room.

Bringing back Mig-27 and Su-17
Guys, as we can see a lot of older tanks being brought back to service, what do you think will it be possible to do similar with old decommissioned warplanes like Mig-27s and Su-17s ?
Both were produced till early 90's and they were also retired in the late 90's.
I know plane is more complicated system than tank, however it is possible to refurbish them I am sure.
Maybe wagner could use them as they are simple and more easy to operate.
not to forget about Mig-29s which is still useful bird.

T90M is to be used by the contract guys
T55 will probably be updated to T62M standard which received sights, reactive armor, and other goodies
Those tanks are really good to give to mobilized personnel who can operate those vehicles without having to go to a full fledged tank school
They can do the same with such equipment near the frontline
Tbh Ukrainian t64 is easy to kill with T62 or T55, I'd rather save the T90M and send to NATO border

Disgusting that the smarmy Pakistani **** Sunak in Britain is talking about sending DU shells which are in practice dirty nuke material. The pos is trying to get other vassal states to send the same poison.
I wonder what Russia's response might be.
I live in Britain/ Brit-stan but Russia really needs to show those cocksuckers a firm hand for once.
I've always been a big Putin fan, certainly over other leaders at least. BUT I think he's played Gandhi for far too long and needs to instill some fear in the evil perpetuators of this atrocity called the Pukraine.
Nuclear terrorism doesn't only require the firmest possible response. It requires the firmest possible pre-emption and deterrent. Otherwise... next step will be nuclear waste sprayed all over Moscow as well.
PS why can't I say c-u-n-t for Sunak?

Well.. Russia already have similar BM-46 "Svinets" round tho, which also a DU round. Although that is early generation round. and i see people are harping on those T-55 being transported video. Remains to be seen whether they are really going to SMO area and if such what unit will field them. I would expect modernization tho, like at least fitting some new optics and laser rangefinder.
I'm curious tho whether the "Bastion" missile for BMP-3 is compatible with the T-55's.

S-300 SAM coming from a western direction hit a residential building in Zaporozhye, today.
Much like the infamous Kiev one from last year, it is absolutely obvious that it is a Ukrainian AD failure.
But Zelensky shamelessly calls it a deliberate Russian attack and no media even bothers fact-checking it. So tiring.

Russia has no DU rounds in service or ever had, AFAIK
Yes the USSR developed some, but never introduced/mass-produced them

The T-55 is obsolete as a tank. The 100mm rifled gun it uses cannot penetrate a T-64 properly. I assume it would be used as infantry support vehicle. It will also make the logistics with ammo worse. Some countries have upgraded similar tanks (Chinese Type 59 which is a T-54 clone) with 125mm guns and more modern engines like Pakistan and Bangladesh. But there is simply no way around the lackluster armor protection it has.Tbh Ukrainian t64 is easy to kill with T62 or T55, I'd rather save the T90M and send to NATO border
For example this is an upgraded T-55 from Bangladesh. Upgraded with Chinese equipment.
It has 125mm gun, thermal sights, 730hp engine, and ERA blocks.

Is it really more advanced when you don't have the C5ISR capabilities to make it as effective?
