[quote="nomadski"]Short range Rocket artillery , may have far less error , small CEP , allowing destruction of bunker . Fired more directly . Ukrainians may have far fewer of these at such ranges , so assuming equal losses , then they loose overall . A shovel fitted to these , to allow digging a sand bar and some SHORAD , to take out drones , will be good .

Edit : May be good idea to bring in Anti - Aircraft guns with 60 mm and above calibre that have frag warhead and proximity fuse , to use , more in direct fire role against bunker and trench etc . Like Germans did with their 88mms  Anti- Aircraft gun , used in Anti - Tank role in ww2 . If ammunition is spare? Range 8-9 km , beyond Javelin .

Edit : " For example, the Russian 115 mm 2A20 Molot tank gun fitted with the TSHS-41U telescopic sight and firing the 3OF18 HE-FRAG projectile has an effective range of 3000 m. At night, firing with the TPN-1 night sight, it is 800 m for all projectile types – a limitation of the sight, not the ammunition. However, the maximum range of the 3OF18 projectile at all times is 9500 m when fired at a gun angle of 16° (Nikolskiy, 1997). "

Looks like no AAA of 60 to 70 mms available now , but T62 can hit 9500 meter with frag warhead ,with 3OF18 ? as well as some anti - Tank guided tube launched ATGM ?

    http://characterisationexplosiveweapons.org/studies/annex-d-115-120-125-mm-tank-guns/#:~:text=This%20report%20covers%20tank%20guns%20of%20115%20mm%2C,Union%20introduced%20the%20T-62%20main%20battle%20tank%20%28MBT%29.

What is CEP of this round of t62? So bring them in against trench ! And yes :

Does t62 make breakfast ? LOL

    ТАSS; Jun 2, 01:39

Source: Russia uses Su-25SM3 attack aircraft invulnerable to foreign MANPADS in Ukraine

TASS, June 2. During the military special operation in Ukraine, Russian aviation uses modernized Su-25SM3 attack aircraft equipped with the Vitebsk airborne defense system to protect against foreign man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS). This was reported to TASS in the power structures of the region.

"Russian aviation is successfully using modernized Su-25SM3 aircraft in the military operation in Ukraine. They are equipped with the Vitebsk-25 electronic warfare system, which is able to protect them from enemy MANPADS missile strikes," the agency's interlocutors said.

According to them, this modification of the attack aircraft is used mainly in the southern direction and in the Donbass. "These [Vitebsk] complexes, placed in hanging containers on the suspension units of the Su-25SM3 aircraft, show high performance and, on the whole, cope with their tasks quite successfully," they added.

Also, the interlocutors of the agency noted that such complexes are installed, including on Ka-52 helicopters and the Mi-8 family. "They were successfully used by the Russian military in Syria. And then not a single helicopter with Vitebsk was hit by MANPADS missiles fired by terrorists," they recalled.

TASS has no official information on this matter.

Earlier, the combat use of the latest version of the famous attack aircraft - the Su-25SM3 - was not officially reported during the special operation in Ukraine. The Russian military department periodically publishes video footage of the destruction of camouflaged fortified field positions and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Su-25 attack aircraft, without specifying the modifications of the aircraft.

    Su-25SM3 and "Vitebsk"

The Su-25SM3 aircraft is a modernized version of the Su-25 (also known as "Rook") - an armored subsonic attack aircraft designed to directly support ground forces over the battlefield day and night with direct line of sight of the target, as well as to destroy objects with given coordinates around the clock in any weather conditions.

The Su-25SM3 modification received the GLONASS satellite navigation system with the ability to program the end point with an accuracy of 10 m of the SVP-24-25 sighting and navigation system (SVP-24 Gefest variant), which makes it possible to increase the accuracy of unguided aircraft weapons to the level of guided weapons . The aircraft is capable of destroying small ground targets and air targets at any time of the day. The combat effectiveness of the vehicle has improved three times compared to other modifications.

The airborne defense complex "Vitebsk" was developed by the Samara Research Institute "Ekran" for the individual protection of aircraft and helicopters from guided missiles and MANPADS. Protection is carried out by setting optical and electronic interference. The first deliveries of the complex to the Russian army began in 2015. There is also an export version of the complex called "President-S", which is very popular on the foreign market and is supplied to a number of countries that operate Russian aviation equipment.

Today, Russia occupies about 24% of the territory of the former Ukraine — about 144 thousand square kilometers. You can clearly understand the scale by comparing the size of the occupied territories with the size of the territories of European states.

    ...and increases day by day....

Every occupied centimeter will never return to Ukraine. It's lost forever.

Correction: Every liberated centimeter will never return to Ukraine. It's lost forever. Razz

in other words , ark have proven how clueless he is about military topics.
It looks that @Ark.. believed that satellittes hover around russian army positions for 24 hours.. lol1

    - not aware of weather impact on satellites images.
    - not aware that earth rotates . Laughing
    - Not aware that the image quality of drones can't be surpassed by any satellite from space.
-not aware that satellites can be blinded and jammed its gps coordinates.. Neutral
-not aware that clouds ,can get in the way of satellites spying from space.

it should be obvious ,even for the most ignorant person , that being closer to your target , give you
a superior view of the object ,you need information. Drones can even differentiate civilians ,children from military forces and very good for night vision too, good luck trying to do that with a satellite in space.

sorry ark..you are out of touch with reality, you need air drones for real time information of enemy positions and movements  by the minute.. only drones can do that.  so an apology will be nice . Smile

Russia is fighting in the most hardest /inefficient ,slow ,inadequate and unsafe way possible in ukraine, for  not providing adequate air support to russian troops in the ground  ,neither for providing enough surveillance of the airspace above ukraine.

if the russian army had this guardian angels drones , at all times above their positions , protecting them from ambush ,and from other drones, to intercept them before they reach the zone russian army is moving in their convoys , then ukraine will have a hard time knowing where is the russian army convoys moving and so many lives will have been saved and many tanks not destroyed. and russian casualties significantly lower..  because most casualties from the russian army comes from artillery strikes , on their positions ,guided by ukranian drones.

And if russia had enough strike drones , and the correct tactics , like using su-25 ,as taxi of strike drone , in some kind of customized planes ,with drones attached to its body , then those drones will not had to travel alone to the zone where ukraine artillery is located , and had a major head start of several minutes before they shot down , they can take down 4 artillery with 4 kamikazi cheap drones.

a simple baykatar drone ,  in cloudy weatherr in combination with false decoys , can saturate the defenses of any warship , specially if they are left alone (as russia seems to be doing) to operate without escorts , and just a hit on their ammo storage ,is enough to sink it , and create "Accidental detonation of ammunition" .  as the russian minister told. Rolling Eyes  sounds better than to admit ukraine army with turkish drones sink their destroyer for sure.

@ARk..  it is russian weakness with the use of drones , and weakness in their production capabilities ,
and their very poor use of comined arms operations , sending tanks alone , special forces alone , and not have drones in proper numbers in the battle field , that cant fly very high altitude , what is allowing russia to be humiliated by third world nations like azerbaikan or ukraine ,to humiliate russian army in the ground. because they are given endless drones that nato produce , in turkey and in other nations.   Russia needs desperately drones that can fly higher than  7km or 8k  altitude , in service and in big numbers..  so to avoid being easily shutdown by ukranian manpads.  they also need to significantly improve their domestic optics of their drones , to match the quality of nato ones,
and last russia needs cheap and small artificial intelligence guided drones ,that can be used to target other drones or strike an enemy armor in automatic mode.    So  that it can bypass electronic jamming interference in the zone.   russia would benefit enormously if their choppers had anything like brinstone missiles or at least hellfire fire and forget missiles of nato .  Russia airforce is without doubt the weakest part of russian military.  the good news , they are working on it , they have stealth planes and other better drones than orion.. but they are not anywhere ready for full scale mass production. and not in any big numbers ,that could make any difference.

Nor are the other weapons you claimed in production, You have a very bad habit of lying Ark.

Pre production S-500 are integrated into the Moscow ABM network and I read over the past couple of weeks that it is now in full production.

Mind you there isn't much use for it yet. Thankfully.

You do know what pre-production means right? it means prototype status etc after the design phase is done but then they have to go about building it, making sure it works.

So no not in production at best prototype stage

    Really ?

MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. The latest S-500 anti-aircraft missile system has begun arriving for Russian troops, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said during the government’s New Horizons educational marathon on Wednesday.

"Today the troops have already begun receiving the systems that actually combine the functions of air and anti-missile defenses and these are S-500 weapons," Borisov said.

    https://tass.com/defense/1452551

    @SeigSoloyvov
just retire already dude.. everyone proof always you are wrong. lol1

And about s-400s, they can intercept drones at any altitude  ,  but i was merely pointing
to ark ,that was bragging about 150km interception in ukraine ,  he believes that s-400s can
completely shield any territory ,which is far from truth. there are blind spots , too ,that are not possible to cover , that drones can use , hugging terrain ,or using mountains..

this is why strike drones ,are by far the most efficient combat hardware in the 21 century.
should be compared with the invention of radar , in world war 2 , in terms of how useful they are.
a strong drone airforce that operates well coordinated with all armed forces , air ,sea and ground ,
can win wars. and save a lot of soldiers lives. No other weapon is so versatile than drones .  and win
too handsdown in price/performance ration.  One baykatar/orion drone can sink the latest destroyer ,if hit their ammo storage ,with a powerful missile and cause "Accidental detonation of munition as if happened to mosca." if i was to bet money , it was a baykatar drone what sink mosca destroyer.. in a coordinated attack , perhaps striking from a blind spot of the warship or in a swarm attack . not a problem , specially if the warships was alone without escort.

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Ukrainian militants plan to fire long-range rockets, expected to be shipped by the US shortly, at Russian territory to provoke return fire, Russian National Defense Control Center head Mikhail Mizintsev said Wednesday.

"According to verified information, obtained from intercepted radio communications, the Kiev regime plans another inhuman provocation in the city of Shostka, Sumy Region," he said.

"In the near future, a shipment of US-made long-range rocket systems is expected at Shostka, which Ukrainian forces plan, under orders from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), to fire at the territory of the Russian Federation directly from the city’s residential areas. By doing so, Ukrainian neo-Nazis plan to provoke return fire from Russian Armed Forces in order to accuse them of indiscriminate fire at civilian infrastructure and elimination of civilian population," Mizintsev said.

He underscored that Kiev authorities plan to involve Ukrainian and foreign reporters to prepare fake photo and video materials about alleged murder of civilians by Russian forces, which will then be widely disseminated by the Western media.

The video is really exclusive and interesting, although the girls-designers comment on it.
I hope this exclusive video got to the girls designers not for money, and all this is a tricky multi-step.

    What do we see?
We see that the Su-35 pilot finally received permission from two sources (!!!) to destroy air targets, he fired three R-77 missiles at them.
Three is just very rich. Well, **** them to feel sorry for. The main thing is the result.

The incredible coolness of this video is in the angle of the target's illumination. Su-35 in the coup turned away from the target by almost 90 degrees, and the sight continues to hold and highlight the target rocket.

At this angle, a near-zero approach speed is created, and not a single fighter in the world (!!!) it will not be able to accompany it with its own radar sight.

The Su-35 is incredibly cool. 😎

"Producing" is a polite way to tell GTFO in that case, because they will get dates on the same level as Pzh2000 : come back in 2026, and should be ready by then.
Germany ceased any serious support for 404, and I guess it has several reasons.
One of them is practical. Germans know that the war is lost, and that is an investment with no return. What they are doing now, is a double face game, pretending that they do help as hell, while not doing much in real.
The second one is even more practical. German general staff ain't stupid, anyway. With a misery of budget allocations that exists for decades and enormous disadvantageous purchase power parity, they do know when the stocks are depleted and when the safety valve should have been activated. Germany doesn't have stocks to share anymore. We are talking about an army whose Luftwaffe is happy if 1/10th of Eurofighters can get into the air at a given moment. There was a time a few years back when they had 4 (FOUR) EF ready for action. The last speech of Mrs. defense minister at Bundestag was really refreshing when she cited the amounts of Puma AFV and Tiger choppers ready for duty ...
Last but not least, the third factor. Germany might be considered a fluffy bear with no teeth, but they are still Europe's biggest economy, proud of the pride of the past. It is not the best idea to bully them in public. To deny the entrance of their president, who might play a minor role in the political system, still is much respected by the German people. To reprimand them that they don't send you more money and material fast enough, and to public memes presenting you as a lazy, stupid snail in governmentally controlled media.

    https://t.me/breakingmash/35375

How can irbis do this? How can he break off without holding aim ?

Is r77 aesa head tracking on its own there??

Irbis scans automatically like an aesa radar but is also mechanically moved so that the field of view is more than 180°.

Don’t think it was mentioned yet on here, looks like the US are going to supply the Luftwaffe with Gray Eagle drones (at least according to a bunch of tg groups)
They have a range of 400km , 30 hrs of flight time and can carry several hellfire missiles

Now if Russians getting killed , by these weapons in very few numbers , then all the more reason for Russian population to volunteer and liberate more areas of Ukraine from Nazis . The same goes for turning Radar on by other units of using reserved secret guided weapons or tactics that NATO can gather intelligence on . Best use non-electronic , non-secret tactics . Throw cold Rocks at them !

There is also an export version of the complex called "President-S", which is very popular on the foreign market and is supplied to a number of countries that operate Russian aviation equipment.

    https://tass.ru/armiya-i-opk/14797933

In many of the videos featuring Su-25 attack runs, they fly close to the ground and then slightly point the nose of the aircraft up just before releasing their rocket salvos, as opposed to climbing high and dive into their targets as it was usually done by strike aircraft. I wonder if the SVP-24 is what helps them know when to fire their rockets so they fly up and right into their targets.

Are you aware that if Russia includes parts west of the Dnieper, it would mean the spread of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian language in Russia...

It's not about deserving it's about national security

If they leave anything it will become new West Germany

Language and church are easily eradicated, you just have to get to it

And if Ukrainian language or church can spread that easily to Russia then it will simply be result of them being superior to Russian ones

Russia doesn't need to absorb the whole thing but nothing can be given to anyone

Take everything, depopulate it if required and if there's something left turn it into eternal drone-bombed hellscape

You know very well that Russians are like us Serbs, so they quickly forget all the evils that were done to them. I did not write that it would not be good to have Russian military bases in the Volyn region or around Kiev. Let it be a Russian protectorate.

And I would bet it is a bullshit.
You see the missile type indicator on the right - 77-1.
And there is only one target on the HUD, down left, with lock on symbol and "1" marking.
3 missiles seems an overkill, yet ...

    TASS; Military operation in Ukraine
    Jun 2, 08:36 (Updated 09:06)

The Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of Ukrainian Bayraktar drones with the Russian S-300

During the special military operation S-300PM2, they protect the units of the Russian Armed Forces from air attack weapons

MOSCOW, June 2. /TASS/. Crews of the S-300PM2 Favorit anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Russian Armed Forces discovered and destroyed Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 attack drones. This was reported on Thursday in the Russian Defense Ministry. "In the process of combat duty, aerial targets identified as Bayraktar TB2 strike unmanned aerial vehicles were detected. As a result of competent actions, the strike drones in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine were taken for escort and destroyed," the ministry said.

As noted in the Ministry of Defense, in the course of a special military operation, the crews of the S-300PM2 anti-aircraft missile system provide protection for units of the Russian Armed Forces from air attack weapons.

The S-300PM2 Favorit air defense system is designed to destroy modern and advanced aircraft, strategic cruise missiles, tactical and operational-tactical ballistic missiles and other air attack weapons, including when exposed to intense active and passive interference.

S-300PM2 is a deeply modernized model of S-300 air defense systems. Surpasses previous versions in terms of detection and destruction of targets. Also, "Favorite" is able to simultaneously target and fire a larger number of aircraft. The system can simultaneously track up to 6 targets and direct up to 12 missiles at them.

    Pretty much.

History will record that the US made some strategic blunders in not enforcing their hegemony such that it would last for a very long time.

First in not really putting the boot into Russia between 1991 and 2000, allowing a nationalist leader, Putin, to come to power.

Second in not going hard in in 2014/5, allowing Russia to build strength before planning to attempt it in 2022.

Third by halfheartedly having a go at Russia since 2014 effectively forcing them into an alliance with China, creating a competitor to themselves.

Instead of the US power in the World being measured on the scale of the hour hand, they, by the own activities have moved it as a minimum to the minutes hand and maybe the seconds hand.

We live in the very dangerous times of an always aggressive Empire thrashing around in its death throws.

    ⚡Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry

▫The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

💥 High-precision air-based missiles have hit 21 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, including command posts of the Ukrainian Nazi formations Kraken and Azov near Kharkov.

✈💥Operational-tactical, army and unmanned aviation have hit 15 areas of Ukrainian manpower and military equipment concentration. Ammunition and fuel depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Dolina and Slavyansk, Donetsk People's Republic have been destroyed.

▫The attacks have resulted in the elimination of up to 240 nationalists and up to 39 weapons and military equipment, including 1 Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system, 10 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, 3 BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers, 7 artillery mounts and mortars, and 17 special vehicles.

💥Fighter aviation have shot down 1 Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian air force near Lubomirovka, Nikolaev Region.

💥Russian air defence means have hit 7 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near Odessa, Kamyshevakha, Popasnaya, Zolotoe, Kudryashovka in Lugansk People's Republic, Yarovaya in Kharkov Region, as well as Verkhnetoretskoe in Donetsk People's Republic overnight.

💥Missile troops and artillery have hit 131 command posts, 146 artillery and mortar batteries at firing positions, as well as 579 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration.

📊In total, 186 Ukrainian aircraft and 129 helicopters, 1,084 unmanned aerial vehicles, 327 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,373 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 460 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,752 field artillery and mortars, as well as 3,350 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

❗We note that the inflow of foreign mercenaries to Ukraine to take part in combat operations against the Russian Armed Forces has virtually dried up since the beginning of May.

▫According to the data at our disposal, the total number of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine has now been almost halved from 6,600 to 3,500. At the same time, the number of mercenaries in combat units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard in Donbass has decreased by orders of magnitude.

▫Hundreds of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine were eliminated by Russian long-range precision weapons shortly after their arrival while they were still undergoing pre-training and coordination of tactical units.

▫But most of the mercenaries are destroyed in the war zone due to their low level of training and lack of real combat experience.

❗Separately, I would like to point out that the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard units, which included mercenaries, are not sparing foreigners in their efforts to reduce losses of their servicemen. Captured mercenaries tell interrogators that they are the first to be sacrificed. Due to the Kiev regime's silencing of the losses and the absence of remains, relatives of the mercenaries in their countries of residence simply do not know about their deaths.

▫Faced with a real combat situation and heavy losses among servicemen of the AFU, the National Guard and foreigners, a significant number of mercenaries prefer to leave Ukrainian territory as soon as possible, but the Kiev regime prevents them from going abroad in every possible way.

▫Let me remind you that under international humanitarian law, mercenaries are not combatants and the best that awaits them is criminal liability.

▫The Kiev regime's urgent attempts to guarantee the mercenaries legal protection by including them in the military units of the AFU or the National Guard, or by issuing them with fresh Ukrainian passports, will not save any of them.
