After 5 weeks of war, huge destructions and over 10K Ukrainians killed in their own country, Russia now says that their feelings were hurt by loosing a bit of fuel in #Belgorod? Really?

Battle at Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk obl.) since morning, russian forces are trying to break through Ukrianian lines there.

Latest French Defence Ministry map (day 35):
- RUS ivo Kiev loosens grip to reposition
- RUS offensive in Donbass
- RUS offensive against ivo Izyium & Kharkov
- RUS reinforce advance to Zaporizhia/up Dnieper
- RUS consolidating Mariupol gain
- east/central front = main RUS effort

Some few items:

- notice that some analyst were quoting the 2 contractors for every conscript in manpower but that is not counting the officers and warrants. Factor those in and the conscripts make up only 25% of the operational forces.
- saw a video the last couple days in which some Cossack's were on their way to Kherson. Not sure if they were irregulars or some other regular Cossack units. There are designated Cossack units in both the Armed Forces and National Guard.

So we may see a shoke and awe in the east very soon.

Russia is withdrawing from Kiev and Chernigov, and sending all its forces to strike at the Donbass grouping

The Ukrainians are sending a load of reinforcements to the Donbass, and have a second grouping around Zaporozhie too, to get the first group out if need be

However they're prepared for the Russian army of the past week, the one just lazily passing by and not much using all its resources as long as the Ukrainians in their sector aren't too active.

Here we may see massive armored fists strike through to Zaporozhie along with a mass of air-power, to encircle all Ukrainian forces or cut them into smaller pockets.

There is also some activity at the Nikolayev direction too.

I´m pretty sure the AD units keep double and triple checking anything before launching missiles. Instead of shoting down these helis at 40km with Buk missiles this could lead to "Ops, there are objects (buildings) in the way!" Or to the danger of hitting the depot themselves.

A civilian depot. Doesn´t even interrupt the fuel supply in the region, according to the governor. If so I would guess that Rosneft and other oil companies got a few oil trucks in their inventory to help out.

But this incident could lead to Rosgvardija getting MANPADS or even SHORADS. In the near future they could guard civilian objects even against air attacks.

Disagree on the reinforcements to the Donbas. They know it is going down, just wanting to drag it out like Mariupol. Any troops, and they are claiming 15,000, will go to set up protection in front of the Dnieper. They mentioned some SF to the Donbas but if true they are just there to prevent troops from surrendering or retreating.

This school is also used to train National Guard and PMC's. Not sure about the Army.

If I were Ukrainian I'd be kinda pissed that Westerners attribute every single Ukrainian success to either the (imaginary) total incompetence of the Russian army (if they're pro-UKR) or to (imaginary) direct American intervention (if they're pro-RU), but never to Ukrainian skills

A well planned attack by the US/NATO guys leading the operations in Ukraine using Ukrainian pilots after carefully mapping the AD bubbles in the area through their assets flying around Ukraine and providing a well plotted route.

If we want to talk about balls, it was the day 1 insersion at Hostomel, flying right into harms way when every single asset was keeping an eye on Russian movements. Also, the airdrop at Mykolaiv.

The Ukrainians was lucky to complete the mission successfully due to various factors, mainly
- low use of Russian radar/warning assets actively. Russians are likely using it bare minimum due to their fear of NATO snoopers all around and preserving all their electronic and airforce assets for the main and direct confrontation which Russia is anticipating.
And ofcourse, there was the time tested carelessnes on part of the Russian side as well.


Yesterday's mission to Mariupol to pull out high valued assets likely was also carefully planned. It was mentioned 4 Mi-8 + 1 Mi-24 was involved. But reportedly only 2 was shot down. I hope the rest didn't succeed in its mission and had turned back. If they succeeded in pulling out the NATO assets from right inside an active combat zone surrounded by the Russian forces, its more damaging than this attack on oil storage.
