Radar "all-altitude detector" set to the troops Aerospace Defense Russian
Yes, its 96L6.mack8 wrote:What is that mast radar called, is it the 96L6 from the news above or is it something else? Thanks.
This is not S-500 radar MARS nor civil radar. I suspect this is the radar that will go to Russian radar units and will accompany PVO troops (S-500 units).medo wrote:Maybe MARS radar for S-500. I really doubt this is civil radar...
Found the systems photo from Vitlay website ( scroll below to see Demonstrator radar )Perhaps the greatest surprise of the MAKS-2013 airshow was the Demonstrator, a new radar displayed by Almaz-Antey. No information was available about that radar prior to the exhibition in Moscow. The product displayed at MAKS-2013 was described as a “the Demonstrator, a new specialized civilian radar, 1:1 scale, transmitter and receiver stations”. According to the information plate, the Demonstrator is a mobile specialized radar designed to monitor the launch of space carriers and the descent of reentry vehicles. The outward appearance of the Demonstrator is similar to the radars used in the US THAAD missile defense system and to the Israeli Elta Green Pine radar, which is used in the Arrow missile defense system. It appears that the product presented as a “civilian radar” at MAKS-2013 is actually a mobile early warning missile defense radar that will be used to detect missile launches and track missile trajectories in future Russian missile defense and space defense systems. The Demonstrator can detect targets at a distance of up to 1,500 km, and lock on targets with an RCS of 1 sq. m. at 600 km. The antennas used in the new radar are fully digital-receiver and transmitter-phased array setups.

I seriously doubt that it takes 5 hours to deploy this radar. Its a mistake. 20 min at max.Austin wrote:More Infomedo wrote:There is also new radar Nebo-UME, which was not noticed as it should be.
NNIIRT develops new dual-frequency early warning radar
Didnt notice. I thought that some mistake has been made by journalists. Tnx man.medo wrote:There is also new radar Nebo-UME, which was not noticed as it should be.
Excellent. They could just place this radar in square in Ural and whole russian air space will be covered.Viktor wrote:Russia just got new OTH radar system CONTAINER.

A video about this new OTH radar.
At the moment we are seeing the traffic situation over Europe. Relatively speaking, our station sees the tactical aviation located at NATO air bases, to the Channel - he commented. - We see a lot of air targets, track their trajectory and motion parameters, what type of a particular aircraft, military or civilian, he, single target or group. My goal as a commander of duty forces -
And I must say that the intensity of a new radar ZGO increased in the last two years. In 2014, we expect to increase the combat capabilities of the station "container." Already next year its characteristics will increase. In the future, one such radar ZGO will "see" all aerodynamic targets, including small-size aircraft at a distance of up to 3,000 km, an azimuth of 240 degrees.
