MOSCOW, 7 Mar-RIA Novosti. 1.1 thousand female servicemen are participating in the special military operation, and every third of them has received state awards, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday.
"To date, one thousand and one hundred female servicemen are taking part in a special military operation, and every third of them has been awarded state awards," Shoigu said at a conference call at the Russian Defense Ministry. He expressed gratitude to all the women of the Russian Army for their conscientious service, professional and responsible approach to the assigned task, and wished them "good health, spring mood and family well-being."
On the eve of International Women's Day, the Russian Defense Minister expressed " sincere gratitude to our dear women for their care, kindness, warmth and perseverance during the days of trials." According to him, in the professional field, women "fully realize their abilities, are active participants in the public and political life of the country."
In total, more than 39 thousand women serve in the Armed Forces, almost five thousand of them wear officer shoulder straps, Shoigu said.

MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. About 4,000 Russian armed forces specialists are engaged in research, up 18% from 2022, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said during a conference call with top Russian military commanders on Tuesday.

"In wrapping up the thematic part, we will look at the results of work on inventions and efficiency initiatives in the armed forces during the first quarter. At the moment, about 4,000 people are engaged in research and technology activities, which represents an increase of 18% over the same metric last year. The bulk of that increase came from the crews of tanks, self-propelled artillery systems and combat vehicles, as well as engineers and recon teams participating in the special military operation," Shoigu said.

According to the defense minister, new inventions and innovative efficiency proposals are actively being adopted as part of the training process as well as in the troops’ day-to-day routines.

"Specific technologies developed for enhancing the protection of military personnel, and more efficient operation of weapons and equipment are already being used in those areas covered by the special operation," he highlighted.

NOTE: Russian Armed Forces run the large ERA technical research center in Anapa along with 36 other research centers across the country for various branches and fields of research. As part of this, the most educated and highest intelligent conscripts (~700) are allowed to do their national service working at these centers in 17 military companies of which 8 are at the ERA facility.
