The Peace Mission 2021 anti-terror exercise is running on September 20-24. Overall, the drills involve more than 3,400 troops and over 600 items of armament, military and special hardware. Russia is represented in the drills by about 2,000 personnel and over 350 weapon systems.
These maneuvers have been held every two years since the organization’s creation. The first such exercise took place on the territory of Kazakhstan and China in August 2003.
Russia-China-led bloc must be prepared to fight terrorists’ new tactics — Gerasimov
The world is headed for war and has been headed that way for quite a while now. Several times, just at the brink, the West decided to pull back, but each time it did that its ruling elites felt two things: first, the felt even more hatred for Russia for forcing them to back down and, second, they interpreted the fact that no shooting war happened (yet) as the evidence, at least in their minds, that standing on the brink of war is a pretty safe exercise. And yet, a major shooting war is quite possible in any of the following locations, or even in several simultaneously: (in no specific order)
US-China war over Taiwan AngloZionist attack on Iran A war involving the 3B+PU against Belarus A war between the Ukraine and the LDNR+Russia A NATO-Russian war in the Black Sea region A resumption of a war between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Agreed there are a lot of boys crying wolf on both sides. However my view is that there is so much pressure building up on all sides that I cannot see some form of shoot-up not occurring somewhere soon.

It wont happen between the big powers. Nukes and all. But among small players? of course.
Ironically it is at times when things appear to be their worst that some people start making good choices and good decisions and create things like emergency phones and regular scheduled meetings with the other side to reduce tensions.
Right now there is no direct communication between HATO and Russia so it seems worse because it appears they now communicate via western media taking shots at each other...
Russia to hold Vostok and Grom strategic command-and-staff exercises in 2022
Grom is a strategic nuclear forces exercise
MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. The Russian armed forces will hold two strategic command-and-staff exercises, headlined Vostok and Grom, next year, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said at the ministry’s enlarged board meeting on Tuesday.
Shoigu named "preparing and holding" these drills among goals for 2022.
The enlarged board meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry was held on Tuesday with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Grom (Thunder) is a strategic nuclear forces exercise. The Vostok (East) drills are a key combat training event for all Russian troops.
Due to the peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan, the preparation of the joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022" somehow remained in the shadows. And the event is really extraordinary. For the first time in the post-Soviet history of Russia, such a large-scale transfer of forces over gigantic distances is being carried out.
On January 14, 2022, various media reported on a sudden check of the combat readiness of the troops of the Eastern Military District. Parts of the district have begun to transfer to the west to the training grounds of Belarus to participate in the Allied Resolve-2022 exercises.
According to the official report, the units of the Eastern Military District involved in the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State, with standard equipment and weapons, marched in a combined way (on their own and by rail) to unfamiliar training grounds to places of training tasks on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The verification will take place in two stages.
At the first stage (until February 9), the transfer and creation of groupings of troops (forces) on the territory of the Republic of Belarus as soon as possible, the organization of protection and defense of important state and military facilities, the protection of the State Border in the airspace, the check of the readiness and ability of the air defense forces on duty and means to fulfill the tasks of covering important objects on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
During the second stage of the verification (February 10-20), a joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held, within the framework of which the issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State will be worked out. The practical actions of the troops (forces) will take place at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichsky training grounds, as well as in separate areas located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. It is planned to use the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida and Machulishchi.
The number of military personnel and equipment involved in the exercise, which falls under the scope of the Vienna Document 2011, does not exceed the parameters determined by it, which are subject to notification. Starting from January 16, 2022, units of the Eastern Military District began to arrive in Belarus.
Federation "Allied Resolve" for 7 days has already arrived more than 33 military echelons with military equipment and military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation . The trains keep coming. According to the developed Schedule for the Movement of Military Echelons (VESH), the total number of trains that will arrive in Belarus - 200 military echelons - is an outrageous figure (there has never been such a number),the average number of wagons in military echelons is 50. The following units of rolling stock are involved in military echelons: passenger cars, covered wagons (including marked VM - explosive materials of hazard class 1 and covered wagons converted to transport people), platforms for transporting military equipment and cover cars. Recall: during the joint strategic exercises "West - 2021", only 29 military echelons arrived in the Republic of Belarus in a month.
According to photo and video materials published on social networks, it can be said that units of one tank brigade, four motorized rifle brigades, one motorized rifle regiment, one brigade of marines, one air assault brigade, one special forces brigade, two artillery brigades, one missile brigade, as well as part of the engineering troops, air defense troops, communications and RKhBZ, logistics units. Also, units of the Western and Central military districts, which arrived at the end of 2021, were deployed in the border Smolensk and Bryansk regions. They will probably also take part in the joint Belarusian-Russian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022". The total number of troops involved can be estimated at 60-80 thousand people.
Latvian inspectors to check military installations in Russian regions
Inspectors from Latvia will check the Russian military infrastructure in the Bryansk and Smolensk regions. This was announced on Sunday, January 23, by the head of the National Center for Nuclear Risk Reduction of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Ryzhkov.
It is noted that the inspection will take place within the framework of the Vienna Document 2011 "On Confidence and Security Building Measures", while the Russian side agreed to conduct an inspection.
“The indicated area defined by Latvia is located in the Bryansk and Smolensk regions and covers an area of 13,200 sq. km," the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation specified.
It is noted that during the inspection, Latvian inspectors will receive reports from the command of military formations and units within these territories on the structure, tasks and military activities.
Such inspections are aimed at determining the extent of ongoing military activity or confirming the absence of such, Ryzhkov added.
On January 18, it was reported about the plans of the Russian military to conduct inspections on the territory of the facility of the British armed forces.
According to Sergei Ryzhkov, specialists from Russia will visit the British military facility at its usual location in peacetime, after which they will receive information from the command regarding the personnel, as well as the main weapons and equipment systems.
He clarified that the purpose of the audit is to verify information about the forces and plans for the deployment of the main weapons and equipment systems of Great Britain.
In accordance with the Vienna Document, adopted in 2011 at the core OSCE forum (includes 57 countries in Europe, Asia and America), countries annually exchange information on military forces and major systems of weapons and equipment, on defense planning and military budgets.
Each OSCE state has the right to conduct inspections on the territory of any other, as well as to involve other members of the organization in participation in the inspection.
Military exercises "Vostok 2022" will be held on seven training grounds of the Eastern Military District in Russia from September 1 to 7, and more than 50,000 soldiers, over 5,000 units of weapons and military equipment, including more than 140 aircraft and 60 military ships. On August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia invites its allies and partners to participate in command-staff and other military exercises. He pointed out that Russia sees great prospects in the training of foreign military personnel.
Putin also noted that Russia stands for the comprehensive development of military-technical cooperation. This, according to him, is important in the context of the formation of a multipolar world that has developed today.
