Agree with your points, also I do feel that if ever such a successful attack took place, it can only happen with the aid of a proper military power with almost real time data on the location. It is beyond the normal capability of the IS to do such a strike in isolation.

Regarding the airbase, Russian forces will be moving out from there to Palmyra airbase once that is ready.

Unless something concrete come from the Russian/Syrian side (at a later date) the Russian MoD's denial hold as they have been the most transparent and trustworthy entity compared to the usual suspects in this info war.

Unidentified jets bombed a major camp of the powerful Islamist Ahrar al Sham insurgent group in Syria's northwestern province of Idlib, leaving a large number of dead and wounded, a monitor reported on Tuesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said top trainers from among Ahrar al Sham's leaders were normally at the camp located in the Sheikh Bahar area of rural Idlib.

The insurgent group could not be reached comment. Syrian warplanes over the past 24 hours have intensified raids in the province, which is mainly in the hands of Ahrar al Sham and the Nusra Front, an al Qaeda offshoot.

"Russian Su-34 attack aircraft have destroyed terrorists' illegal oil production facilities in al-Taura located 42 kilometers [roughly 26 miles] to the southwest of Raqqa," the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

Raqqa is the self-proclaimed capital of the terrorist group Daesh, also known as IS/Islamic State. The city also allegedly served as a waypoint for terrorist oil making its way into Turkey.

On March 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces unit had fulfilled its mission in Syria and that its withdrawal would begin the following day. Moscow does, however, maintain a military presence in Syria, as a deadline for a complete pullout has not yet been announced.

Last month, Russian and Syrian Air Forces carried out coordinated airstrikes against Daesh in the province of Raqqa.

"The Su-34 struck an oil refinery, situated on territory controlled by Daesh near the village of Ras al-Ain, in al-Hasakah province," reads a bulletin posted to the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The strikes caused a large fire to break out in the factory.
