    Another network down.

The Stone Age is getting closer - another provider and cellular operator has stopped working in Ukraine

Another Ukrainian telecommunications company, Maxnet, suddenly stopped working: cellular communications and the Internet stopped working, the company’s website is also inactive, and any attempts to reach operators end in nothing.

The reasons have not yet been named, but for many they are obvious.

One of the Ukrainian military said that Italian equipment is of low quality.

Probably stuff that had been sitting in a warehouse for 60 years and never been used, like a lot of the "gifts" the west showered Kiev with.

Post  Kiko Thu Dec 14, 2023 10:30 am

Top MP speaks on major Russian offensive, 12.14.2023.

The areas where Moscow’s forces will break through Ukrainian defenses have already been decided, Andey Gurulev has claimed.

Russia is preparing a major offensive against Ukrainian forces, to be paired with a large-scale missile assault on the country’s critical infrastructure, according to Lt. Gen. Andrey Gurulev, who sits on the Defense Committee in the Russian parliament.

In order to advance successfully, Moscow forces would need to have a five-to-one or at least three-to-one advantage in manpower over the Ukrainian defenders, Gurulev said during his appearance on Rossiya 1 channel on Wednesday.

“The breakthrough areas are identified in the governing documents. Our commanders know this thing well and understand how to apply it. Where exactly they will happen is another question. We definitely won’t announce anything. No one should know what it’s going to look like. When the time comes – we’ll see everything,” he stressed.

At the same time, the Russian military is preparing a major “strategic air operation” with the aim of “completely suppressing [the Ukrainian] air defense systems, gaining air superiority, isolating combat areas and destroying critical infrastructure on a mass scale with the complete collapse of the economy and vital functions of Ukraine,” the MP said.

According to Gurulev, the airstrikes on targets in Ukraine in recent months have been carried out mainly with the use of drones. However, the Russian defense industry “didn’t stop, but only increased the production” of missiles.

In late November, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that Kiev’s forces would switch from attacking to building fortifications, acknowledging that the much-hyped Ukrainian counteroffensive, which began in early June and aimed to cut Russia’s land bridge to Crimea, had ended without success.

According to Russian Defense Ministry estimates, Ukraine has lost over 125,000 troops and 16,000 pieces of heavy equipment in failed attempts to move forward over the past half a year.

Over the weekend, the commander of Ukraine’s ground forces, Col. Gen. Aleksandr Syrsky, said on social media that the Russian military was “conducting offensive operations along the entire front.” The situation for the Ukrainian defenders “remains difficult,” he admitted.

Unnamed US officials told the New York Times on Monday that Washington and Kiev are trying to work out “a new strategy.” The US now wants the Ukrainians to focus on holding onto the territory they still control, while building up forces and supplies throughout 2024, they said.

According to sources, Kiev would also have “to fight on a tighter budget” from now on as the Republicans continue to resist the Biden administration’s attempts to push through a bill intended to provide Ukraine with an additional $60 billion in military aid.

Perhaps the suffering of the Palestinians has created a real opportunity... previously the west has talked about the suffering of civilians and brutality of the Russians in this conflict, which most of the rest of the world has seen through for the BS it is because they have seen the brutality of the west against other countries, but with Israelis shelling civilians in gaza and elsewhere you actually have to ask yourself why are the people in the east of the Ukraine getting off so lightly considering it is their views and support that created this entire situation in the first place... they hate Russia and Russians and equate Ukrainians in the east who speak Russian as being Russians that should be used to kill more Russians where possible.

In such a situation why let their logistics continue and likely the secret stocking of their army on the front line with those trucks and trains and cars delivering people and fuel and ammo and weapons to the front and taking the wounded out.

If they are not suffering then they wont mind if this war continues forever... lets make them suffer properly and see how long they want to continue.

They think they are winning or at least have fought the Russians to a stalemate... lets disabuse them of this idea.

The SMO has shown that the Russians are winning even with a clear disadvantage in manpower.
You need an advantage in artillery, air vehicles (fighters, helicopters and drones) and amored vehicles = firepower.
With a good preparation you will have an advantage in manpower when you reach the enemy lines. Twisted Evil

How ironic, Garry supportint tactics I said months ago needed to happen.

But yeah the Russians need to start doing this destroy every bit of infrastructure and show the people what a war looks like and soon enough the support for it will fall

It's just silly it took the Russians this long to reach that conclusion.

But I suspect with the arrival of actual American officers.

They see that without a doubt if they don't take Ukraine down the US will never leave.

There will be no peace deal. Only unconditional surrender.

Last chance for peace deal was one and a half years ago.

The only question is what regions will be immediately integrated into Russia proper and which will become a Russian protectorate with limited autonomy (à la Puerto Rico).

Even Galicia cannot be left on its own, it would become a problem for the rest of Malorossia and for Bielorussia (which probably will have to be integrated as well as the same time as Kiev, but in its case, peacefully).

Nord west of Ukraine is extremely important also for direct land connection with Hungary, and it has also direct land borders with 3 other countries in central/eastern Europe.

Left on its own it would become another problem for Russia, as "neutral" Ukraine has become openly since 2004 (but actually since 1992).

It is not the same as having Poland as a neighbour, because in this case Poland cannot directly intervene on russian territory without starting a war which would result in Warsaw getting its own doses of kalibrs and iskanders.

This is what I said when SMO started

And everyone said it was stupid,  heartless,  genocidal

    Bla bla bla

Now with so many losses of our guys in these frontal attacks to take marginal towns

It seems these old clowns listened to me

What is sad is that it took this long for them to come to this obvious conclusion

The naivety of the leadership never ceases to amaze me,

During the direct line to Putin, he literally called himself naive, when asked what he would tell his younger self back in 2000 - he said not to be naive with regard to western partners

And he still has not learned

Let's see if they can get this right,  or if Israel will take Gaza by the time they take Avdeevka

By February, I hope they can conduct a combined arms offensive, bombing everything in front of them, and just taking minimal losses in mopping up survivors

Some of this may have been previously announced. It sounds like more that way.

Germany handed over the second Patriot air defense system to Ukraine

The German government announced the transfer to Ukraine of the second Patriot anti-aircraft missile system and missiles for it.

In addition, the delivery included nine Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles, 7,390 ammunition up to 155 mm caliber for artillery, three unmanned mine detection and clearance vehicles, 14 drone detection systems, eight Mercedes-Benz Zetros trucks, four tractor trailers, and also 8,000 rounds of 40 mm caliber for grenade launchers.

In addition, over the past week, another batch of nine Bandvagn 206 tracked all-terrain vehicles was delivered.

7,390 ammunition up to 155 mm caliber for artillery, and also 8,000 rounds of 40 mm caliber for grenade launchers.
From the Russian perspective: after firing so "many" rounds in a day it would be called "calm" in the report of the MoD.

three unmanned mine detection and clearance vehicles
Enough to clean 10 metres of a minefield before being destroyed by ATGMs.

Soon the will claim they have 2 million.
Each one with his own M1 tank and a Reaper drone. lol1

the complete collapse of the economy
Do you really think you could collapse the economy of a European state in a few weeks?
You couldn´t do it even with 10.000 missiles.
The coming attacks will be the final blow after 22 months of deliberately and methodically exhausting the Ukros and all of NATO.

Keep in mind that the attacks a year ago were never aimed at destroying the energy grid or the economy,
the target was to expose the radars and AD systems of the enemy. That´s why there was no big time jamming,
the enemy should see the incoming missiles and drones so he could react to them and show where the mobile
radars and long/medium-range AD systems were hiding.

We could witness a change in the air attacks in the last week or so. This time air raids were only sounding after
the attacks already happened. This proves that a lot of radars and AD systems were already destroyed, but
according to sources the Russians used massive jamming to shield their drones and missiles.

25 km from the front in the Donbass, Yan Iatsychen, commander of the 56th motorized infantry brigade, paints a gloomy picture of the situation.

He talks about the vulnerability of the CAESAR. Because of its size, the CAESAR can quickly become a target of Russian drones.

“I use it very little because it is very vulnerable and poorly adapted to the realities of war.

If I take it out into the open to shoot, it becomes the target of counter-battery fires after 3 to 4 minutes. I don't have time to evacuate him out of the danger zone.”

“Hiding the Caesar leads to degrading its satellite link, which becomes impossible to guide fire without it. It would be necessary to either guide the shot in manual mode or for the satellite antenna to be detachable.”

According to the Oryx blog, 4 CAESAR have been destroyed and 2 damaged.

Give them their due, they got it right again in Kiev. Their Patriots did destroy Kinzahls Laughing Like moths to a flame.

Three independent Russian Telegram sources report that the Patriot system brought in Ukraine was destroyed. The $1,2bn was brought down by three Kinzhal missiles.

Russian Armed Forces struck the Patriot SAM.
It was in Zhytomyr, most likely destroyed the entire installation with a charging vehicle and 5 radars.

In Starokonstantinov there is another hit of "Kinzhal" in a bunker with NATO officers from Czech Republic and Poland, possibly from Germany. So far this is all that is known for sure. We are waiting for details tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
