Moscow. 12th of August. Interfax-AVN - Russia's Defense Ministry plans to purchase 30 multi-role fighters MiG-35s, he told reporters on Wednesday the commander in chief of aerospace forces, Colonel-General Viktor Bondarev.

"The MiG-35s created in the development work commissioned by the Defense Ministry of Russia with a completion date - 2017. After the completion of state tests of the MiG-35s would be adopted for the further financing of purchases of more than 30 units," - said V.Bondarev.

According to him, a "contract for the purchase of MiG-35s is scheduled to conclude in 2018".

Russian Ministry of Defense will sign a contract with United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for delivery of 48 Su-35 multi-role fighters at MAKS-2015 airshow, Interfax-AVN reports with reference to sources close to the aircraft industry and the ministry.

“The value of this contract will be around 100 billion rubles,” said in the statement published on Tuesday. Su-35 fighter was developed at the initiative of Sukhoi Company (the jet performed its maiden flight in February 2008) without participation of the Ministry of Defense (using own and borrowed funds). The aircraft is manufactured by Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant.

“The contract for delivery of 48 jets of the type worth 66 billion rubles was signed in 2009, however, the production costs have increased. Russian air forces should take delivery of the last vehicles delivered under this contract in 2015; at the same time Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu ordered to complete the state testing of the new vehicle in 2015,” said in the statement.

According to Interfax-AVN, in case of signing a contract with China this year, Russian aircraft industry will secure orders for a total of 118 fighters in 2015: 46 MiG-29s for Egypt, 24 and 48 Su-35 for China and Russian air forces respectively. Moreover, a contract for delivery of four Su-30SM fighters to Kazakhstan may also be signed.

According to the expert of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, Konstantin Makienko, this contract will become the largest one signed by Russian air forces since 2012, when large contracts for delivery of 92 Su-34 bombers and 60 Su-30SM fighters were signed. “I doubt that such large contracts may be signed by the Russian Ministry of Defense in the coming years,” the expert said.

Well this self-appointed expert forgets about MiG-35, PAK FA or Tu-160? or he is just and agent of influence wqorking for US?

CAST is London-based, and routinely links Bloomberg, Moscow Times, and Wall Street Journal. They aren't credible at all.

At the moment Su-27...37 is much more famous and notable than MiG-35. And for many countries, just only Su-27 family is more than enough to fulfill the need of multirole air superiority fighter for the whole army.

So basically MiG-29/35 is somewhat sidelined in the news articles.

I do not say that article is good, though.

Man you people are overreacting like crazy. He isn't really wrong. Actual contracts for Tu-160M2 are still atleast 3 years down the line imho, with T-50 they won't "bulk buy" like with Su-35S to start with so the contract value shouldn't reach 100 billion RUB. With MiG-35S atleast the initial contract will be around ~30-36 frames and their price will be lower than Su-35S, so again the contract will be smaller. Su-34M wont happen til atleast 2019 etc. So i don't expect bigger fighter contracts til serious T-50 contracts.

There might be bigger contracts money wise coming from transport section, we shall see.
