Yes they can sell it to Russia. And if not they still need russian agreement for selling them. Orban is a friend of russia he wouldn't care much about USA pressure.

Russia can then sell them to Iran. Both are under sanctions so they don't really care about western opinion. Moreover defensive weapons are not forbiden and mig-29A is more an interceptor than a multirole fighter like sukhois.

In theory yes, but in praksis they need apruval from both, Russia as MiGs are russian made planes and from NATO, because Hungary is a NATO member. Orban is friend of Russia, but Russia is under western sanctions and if Hungary sell those planes to Russia, US and EU will impose sanctions on Hungary, which is already not in realy good relations with EU. This is why those planes are still in Hungary.

Iran could be also interested since they also operate mig-29. 19 for 10 million $ and russia could have sold its own SMT for 30 million each (and use the money for another batch of 50 su-35), that would be 70 mig-29 quickly bought and used as they already have the pilots. Then introduce the mig-35 to replace US made f-5.

    How Syria would pay rebuilding?
Iran is under UN sanctions for whos introduction Russian voted.

Iran arm embargo ends on 18 october 2020. Before that date any arm supply must be approved separately and in advance by the UN security council.

    https://www.sipri.org/databases/embargoes/un_arms_embargoes/iran

Furthermore, all states are allowed to participate in the supply of major conventional arms as defined by the UN Register of Conventional Weapons and related components and services to Iran provided that the Security Council decides in advance on a case-by-case basis to approve such supplies. This provision will be lifted five years after the JCPOA Adoption Day, i.e. on 18 october 2020. The embargo on the export from Iran of all arms and related materials will remain in place until 5 years after the JCPOA Adoption Day. Different from other UN embargoes where arms can be supplied to governments if advance approval has been received from the relevant Sanction Committee, for the sanctions on Iran it is the Security Council that has to give approval.
Since for sure US and Britain will vote against any supply from Russia to Iran before the end of the embargo, Russia and Iran could discuss informally and without any public announcement the supply beforehand, and sign the contracts and start the deliveries at the same time on the 18 October 2020.

Iran can output 1.5 -2 million barrels of oil easily. It's pumping 500k "reported"... probably more but not significantly more. They can pay with oil alone.

The problem is the sanctions - which Russia knowingly signed on to - Putin's political games with the Saudi's, Bibi and the Anglo's (concessions for short) + some sound strategic considerations.

The Iranians badly need fighter aircraft, heli's and, at the very least, parts and refurbishment for its 3 kilos. More point air defense as well.

He says f-22 can track a mig-21 (3-5 m2) at 200-250km. Some here were saying 160km max range. Is it a proof for you guys that you were wrong  ?

Back to the topic he says, if my google translation is good, removing the pitot tube created some static electrocity issues inside the noze around the radar.

This is important not because they will now be shooting down HATO fighters at 300km+ range, but because any modern air power relies on command and control to coordinate their forces and the core of command and control within HATO forces is their command and control and communications platforms... ie AWACS, but also JSTARS and inflight refuelling aircraft too... all being rather large aircraft that could be detected at extended ranges and engaged to eliminate from the battlespace.

Performance of any group of aircraft dramatically drops when the AWACS platform monitoring the airspace for them and finding targets and assigning the targets to aircraft is suddenly silent...
