well i think the Irbis E and various upgrades in Su-35 BM will eventually made its way to Su-27SM... if Russian Govt still unable to buy that plane

Hnnn N001V... pretty similar with My Country (Indonesia)'s Su-27SKM..adding compatibility with with new weapon systems and some additional mode in RADAR

Russian defense budget is high for development of lots of aircrafts, but I think they are holding back till PAK FA.

Cause I don't see why it would take so long for production of new aircrafts or upgrades to come, with a budget of $45B a year. Even countries with a less budget seems to produce more aircrafts in a short amount of time.

N-001VEP uses old antenna, not Pero.

No production Pero has been retrofitted to Flankers.

    Older.
What upgrades the radar has is unclear as well, if it is just N-001V or something better.

It will likely have upgrades to use new weapons like the R-77 ARH AAM and like anti radiation missiles too at the very least.

Su-27: News Empty I think these are the two branches of the Flanker family produced by Russia and China can be compared with each other

Post  indochina Tue Apr 09, 2013 11:12 am

I think these are the two branches of the Flanker family produced by Russia and China can be compared with each other

    Su-27SM vs J-11B

    Su-27SM (Flanker-B Mod. 1) : Mid-life upgraded Russian Su-27S, featuring technology evaluated in the Su-27M demonstrators.

J-11B - An indigenised multirole fighter using a Flanker type airframe and advanced Chinese avionics, weaponry and technologies, reduced RCS, MAWS, IRST, radar AESA, and composites to lighten the airframe weight by 700 kg. It has been said that the J-11B is over 90% indigenous.

    Su-27SM2 vs J-11BS/BH

Su-27SM2 was supposed to be the full up conversions with Su-35 avionics including Irbis radar, '14000' kg engines.

J-11BS - A tandem twin seat version of the J-11B under development, initially developed to serve as a combat-capable training aircraft for J-11B pilots

J-11BH - Naval version of the J-11B, which was first sighted in May 2010.

    Su-27SM3 vs J-16

Su-27SM3 is a new multi-purpose fighter parked on the chassis of Su-27s and Su-35S electronic weaponry. This type is equivalent to Su-35S combat features except air refueling.

J-16 A strike variant of the J-11BS with longer range and upgraded avionics, the concept is similar to F-15E fighter/bomber. According to media reports, this fighter is based on Russian Sukhoi Su-30MKK that was sold to China in 2000. It is equipped with missile pylons for Chinese PL-8 air-to-air missiles, another difference comparing earlier J-11 variants, and its dual-seat layout is certainly different from any single seat Shenyang-manufactured Su-27 variants.

Four VVS Su-27s to arrive in Belarus at Baranovich in the next few days. Any idea what subtype are they and from which unit? Earlier this year there was news about the squadron to be be deployed in Belarus being equipped with SM3s. No news of any actual deliveries of SM3s from KnAAPO yet (though 2 are planned for this year), could this be a redeployment of the Krymsk unit after all?

No doubt the time is coming.

Waiting on their Su-27 variant model(s)
And would a MiG-29K be too much to ask?

Twenty SU-27 Fighter Jets to Be Based at Crimea’s Belbek Airbase

MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) – Twenty SU-27 fighter jets are to be relocated to Belbek airbase in Crimea by the end of 2014, a source at the Russian Ministry of Defense told RIA Novosti Tuesday.
“By the end of the year about twenty SU-27 fighter jets will be based at Belbek airbase serving the Russian air defense unit,” said the source.
Earlier, more than 50 aircraft were based at Belbek, including MIG-29 Ukrainian Air Force fighter jets. Currently, the process of transferring the fighters to Ukraine is near its completion.
According to the source, Russian pilots are to fly these planes, while pilots who quit the Ukrainian army are being trained as well. “The training will take half a year,” said the source.

Wasn't the flanker series based in the Black Sea region... will be interesting...

I would love to see an update of Apache Havoc and Commanche Hokum... for a while it looked like the Havoc and Hokum were going to be paper aircraft, but it turns out only the Commanche is.
