Should be a variant of proekt 22356, which is the export model of proekt 22350.

It looks like all electronics are now installed on the ship. Only gun is missing.

When is the Admiral Gorshkov finally going to enter service ? This ship has taken a ridiculous amount of time to build.

It will have formidable firepower and capabilities... no previous Russian or Soviet surface ship has had the same performance potential... and yes I am including the Kirov class in this... with 4 UKSK tubes the Gorshkov could carry up to 32 Onyx missiles... but it could also carry up to 32 x 2,500km range land attack missiles... which is something the Kirovs can't do... yet.

the electronics on board are AEGIS like in the form of SIGMA.

Burke is a cold war dinosaur used for gunboat diplomacy against the 3rd world . Gorshkov is a full on 21 century warship perfectly suiting russia's naval strategic needs. Not to mention practically all its weapons are massively superior to what the burke carries. No contest. BTW also forgot gorshkov's LO measures.

I have no idea how you see the point of comparing 2 ships that aren't even in the same class let alone era.

You are comparing a 4 thousand ton ship to a 10,000 ton ship.

    Are you retarded?

Funny how the former has much better anti-ship capabilities too Wink .

The fact that a Cruiser is comparable to a Frigate is amusing... all the more so when the Cruiser comes up short in some areas...

This may be a strange question to some of you, but why are the bridges of modern ships still in the middle/front of the ship itself? Would not it be more efficient to "push it back" leaving all the weapons on/in the bow? I feel like designers could increase the amount of firepower substantially by doing this. Especially in smaller ships like corvettes and frigates, including the Gorshkovs. If you are having a hard time visualizing this, think of a typical cargo ship. Of course the landing pad would remain behind the bridge, maybe with a CIWS system or two.

Anyway, any updates on the ships themselves? I can't wait to see them finished!

    EDIT:

Seems like frigates and corvettes are playing a large role in Russia's navy to come. Sounds like a smart idea, versus going with lower numbers of more expensive ships (you should know who I'm talking about). The fact that each one of these ships has great firepower for their size should worry the US Navy.

"Gorshkov" is almost complete , delay is due to A-192 130mm deck gun

The gun in the picture is an A-192; proekt 22350 will use the A-192M.

I should point out that proekt 1144, Orlan followed exactly that principle. In that design the long-range missiles in vertical launch systems were grouped forward of the bridge.

Of course, the positioning and the field of fire of some weapons necessitate their positioning abaft the bridge. There is also the interaction between various sensors, weapons, and machinery that have to be taken into consideration. There are other factors too.

    Thank you replying yet again.

Of course (like many things in life, not trying to sound awkward) there are many factors/variables to think of.

The Kirovs, though they are similar to my "design", are much larger than a frigate for example. I see the design being much more beneficial on a smaller craft, such as the Gorshkov.

Imagine something like that, but 1/2 or 1/3 the size, with guns. This is close to the "far back bridge" design.
