This seems to be the only real bottleneck left after the domesticly produced gas turbines are ready and the issues with Redut are solved. It seems the yard or the Navy got only enough qualified people to test one ship of this size. They should work on this. Having two or three ships of this size (or similar capabilities) under testing should be possible.

    Admiral Kasatanov - 20/7/2018
Still not ready, altough very close to being finished. The pace that they're working on these ships is unfortunately painfully slow.

Looks like no progress at all

At this stage, most activity is below decks ie equipment fit-out, cable installations, pre-commissioning, function tests. Scaffolding is for access to installed equipment for testing purposes, not actual installation works. No visible changes, but its likely that plenty is happening.

Government testing of Admiral Gorshkov frigate over, says shipyard

MOSCOW, July 26. /TASS/. Acceptance report of government testing of the flagship of Project 22350, the Admiral Gorshkov, was signed in St Petersburg on Thursday, the press service of the company that built the ship, Severnaya Verf [Northern Shipyard], said in a press release.

"On July 26, a government commission chaired by Captain First Rank Viktor Ivanov signes an acceptance report on government testing of the frigate Navy Admiral of the Soviet Union Gorshkov, Project 22350," it said.

"On July 28, the ship will join the Russian Navy," the press release said.

So can mass production finally start soon?

About F'ing time, unless someone backtracks soon.

Let's hope the Admiral Nakhimov delays because of "Redut" are no longer an issue.

Once the new gas turbines from Saturn are certified, the remaining 2x units can be completed. I can't see the Navy ordering anymore of the same design given the design is from early 00s. They will likely move onto a up-sized variant, the so-called "Super-Gorshkov".

The lack of turbines have always been the major reason the build has been suspended (likewise for the 11356's). Redut issues have clearly delayed the Gorshkovs acceptance, but doesn't have a significant impact on the suspended 22350s.

BTW does anyone have some solid info to corroborate the claims that the first serial MGTs from Saturn are being fitted to the Neustrashimy?

I doubt delays in the Nakhimov are due to any technical problems with the Redut long-range missile variants. Nakhimov is a huge rebuild job, very complex, and delays are inevitable. The schedule will slide to the right just like the conversion of the ex-Baku/Gorshkov into the Vikramaditiya which IIRC took approx 9 years from her purchase to acceptance.

You can´t compare Nakhimov to Baku. Indians were involved there.

Why not order more Gorshkov´s after all problems are solved? The Burke design is from the 70´s.

Im pleasantly surprised given the reports that claimed that its delayed until november.

This means that the redut is ready, so they should commission the S-350 land based SAM too.

I'm not sure this is not a political decision to have the ship "officially" in the Navy for Navy Day.

    Few are.

Radar is not ironed out yet. Navy was definitely pressured into accepting it for holidays.

The Udaloy entered service years before its Klintok (naval TOR) system was actually working, and the Kuznetsov for much of its operational life did not have functioning main radar arrays...

But then the first model Typhoon and F-35 have so called entered service in early tranches or models that don't have everything working either...
