Artillery generally speaking has very long lifetime especially if you do not care about some performance loss after certain amount of shells being fired by piece. That brings up the fact you have still in service ZiS 3 divisional guns around the world. They would be more than happy if they had 2A36 Giatsint Bs to replace M46s and more D20s or 2S3 Akatsiyas.

Haha, sepheronx, just take a look at that picture on sputnik news of the 3 puppets. All making gestures for that picture, because they have nothing else to do but to be the puppets for the US proxy political show called "Souvereign EU politics".

And yeah it truly is Orlan 10, just grass was blocking whole body from view. Tho i wonder, wtf happened with engine shaft, isnt it on the "same" side as wings...

Zvezda report that ISIL terrorists, about 1500, are caught in a "Ring of fire" at Tell Bisy and that airstrikes destroyed their attempt at counter attack. Been almost three weeks since Russian intervention and the terrorists and others are clearly in severe difficulty. I wonder how soon before they fully realise they will be defeated and look for an exit, if they are not already doing so.

This is not Orlan-10. Too short body and wing on the wrong side comparing to the propeller.

It's second version of Orlan. Same that got down in July and Ukraine.

Identical drone was shot down in Ukraine few times and they identified it as Orlan 10 production modification, so was in Syria already in early 2015.

Since they shot it and have it i suppose they identified it by reading its production plate which probably said Orlan 10M1 or whatever it was. At least i guess. It however does share significant resemblence.

Syrian army's full-scale offensive in the Latakia province began on Friday.

Some 34 terrorists, including foreign mercenaries, have been killed by government forces in Syria’s Latakia province, a Syrian army spokesman said Friday.
"As a result of the offensive, we have established control over the towns of Job al-Ahmar, Rabia, and Salma. A total of 34 terrorists, most of them foreign nationals including Chechens, Turks, and Tunisians, have been eliminated," brigade general Ali Maihoub said.

"In the morning of October 15, parts of our armed forces began a military operation in the north of the Homs province… The names of field commanders killed here are known: Omar Al Khadr, Khalid Abu Anas and Abu Bakr al-Shishani," he went on to say. The latter two are of Chechen origin.

Air strikes killed and injured dozens of Islamic State militants east of the Deir ez-Zor Airport, he added.

"In the eastern Raqqa province about 30 ISIL militants have been killed", Ali Maihoub said.

“On October 15 our forces launched a military operation in the northern part of the province of Homs, and have managed to seize partial control of the villages of Ter-Maalya, Jawalik, Sunaysil, and also encircled the village of Dar al-Kabira,” he added.
