Summary of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the progress of the special military operation (for the period from December 23 to December 29, 2023)

In the period from December 23rd to December 29th this year, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out 50 group and one massive strike with precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles on objects of the military-industrial complex, military airfield infrastructure, arsenals, as well as storage sites: artillery ammunition, unmanned boats, weapons and fuel for military equipment.

In addition, the locations of units of the armed forces of Ukraine, formations of nationalists and foreign mercenaries were affected. All assigned objects are hit.

In the Kupyansk direction, units of the "Western" grouping of troops improved the position along the front edge in some areas during the week and repelled 27 enemy attacks.

Air strikes and artillery fire defeated the manpower and equipment of the 10th mountain assault, 25th Airborne, 95th airborne, 30th, 43rd, 60th and 115th mechanized brigades in the areas of the settlements of Novoselovskoye of the Luhansk People's Republic, Sinkovka, Ivanovka, Petropavlovsk and Kupyansk of the Kharkiv region.

The enemy's losses during the week amounted to over 265 soldiers, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 18 vehicles, as well as five field artillery guns.

In the Krasnolimansk direction, units of the Center group of forces, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, improved the position along the front edge and repelled 13 enemy attacks.

They defeated the concentrations of manpower of the 24th, 63rd, 67th mechanized brigades, the 100th, 125th air defense brigades, the 12th special forces Brigade and the 5th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Chervonaya Dibrova of the Luhansk People's Republic, Torskoye, Grigorovka of the Donetsk People's Republic and Serebryansky forestry.

The enemy's losses in this direction amounted to up to 1205 soldiers, six tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, 12 vehicles and 13 field artillery guns.

In the Donetsk direction, units of the "Southern" group of troops, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, liberated the settlement of Maryinka in the Donetsk People's Republic.

The most significant contribution to the liberation of the city was made by the assault detachments of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Army and the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 1st Army Corps of the Southern Military District.

Over the past week, Russian units in this direction repelled 34 enemy attacks and inflicted fire damage on AFU units in the areas of the settlements of Kurdyumovka, Kleshcheyevka, Krasnoe, Andreevka and Georgievka of the Donetsk People's Republic.

The total enemy losses amounted to more than 1,675 military personnel, seven tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles, 29 vehicles, a Czech-made RM-70 Vampire MLRS combat vehicle, as well as 49 field artillery guns.

In the South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok group of forces repelled three enemy attacks.

Air strikes and artillery fire inflicted fire damage on units of the 79th airborne assault, 72nd mechanized brigades and 128th Air Defense Brigade in the areas of the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Vodiane, Paraskovievka and Makarovka of the Donetsk People's Republic.

The losses of the Armed Forces amounted to over 675 servicemen, two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, 19 vehicles, as well as 15 field artillery guns.

In the Zaporozhye direction, units of Russian troops conducted an active defense during which they repelled two enemy attacks near the village of Verbovoye in the Zaporozhye region.

They inflicted fire damage on the manpower and equipment of the 128th mountain assault, 33rd, 65th and 118th mechanized brigades in the areas of the settlements of Orekhov, Malaya Tokmachka, Belogorye, Novodanilovka and Rabodino in the Zaporozhye region.

The enemy's losses amounted to up to 475 soldiers, a tank, six armored combat vehicles, 20 vehicles and 12 field artillery guns.

In the Kherson direction, attempts to transfer sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the islands and the left bank of the Dnieper were thwarted by complex fire damage and preemptive actions of Russian troops.

Air strikes and artillery fire defeated the manpower and equipment of the 35th, 36th and 38th Marine brigades, 124th, 126th air defense brigades in the areas of the settlements of Berislav, Tyaginka, Tokarevka, Nikolskoye, Zmievka and Chernobaevka of the Kherson region.

As a result of the actions of the Russian troops, the total losses of the Armed Forces amounted to 390 servicemen, 25 vehicles, 17 boats, as well as 22 field artillery guns.

During the week, 43 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered, 22 of them in the Kupyansk direction.

Over the past week, tactical aviation and missile forces of the armed forces have destroyed anti-aircraft missile launchers: NASAMS of Norwegian production, IRIS-T of German production and Crotale-NG of French production, the radar of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, as well as three radar stations of counter-battery warfare produced by the United States AN/TPQ-50.

Aviation and air defense systems shot down 10 enemy planes and two helicopters in a week. Including: one MiG-29, three Su-27, three Su-24 and three Su-25, as well as two Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force.

In addition, 33 HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems, four HARM anti-radar missiles, a JDAM guided aerial bomb, a Neptune anti-ship missile and 251 unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 564 aircraft, 263 helicopters, 10206 unmanned aerial vehicles, 445 anti-aircraft missile systems, 14383 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1190 multiple rocket launchers, 7564 field artillery and mortars, as well as 16,833 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
