2A82 with APFSDS has a stated penetration of 850-1000mm RHA.
That's a meter of steel. 2A6 has what, 600mm RHA equivalent.

But tank-on-tank battles are very rare. We've hardly seen any so far, in spite of how many fielded on both sides. They tend to get taken out by other weapons.

Every squad-level AT weapon the Russian army carries will tear both to pieces.
Dozens of M1 were lost against insurgents not even close in training level to the battle-hardened Russkie trooper. And none of them had an access to modern weapons in numbers. The best they could bet was some sole pieces of smuggled RPG-29 or Iranian ripoffs of Korean rippoffs of Kornets.
I really would like to see what an Ataka or Vichr will do with both of those not to mention Chrizantema...

I propose that Russia use thermobaric nukes. Same degree of destruction but with no radiation residue. This is a win-win solution to end this war and restore Russia's territorial integrity along the Polish border

Thermobarics and thermornuclears are two different things. I would also suggest that city levelling operations be reserved for areas of Russia populated almost entirely by traitors such as poland and finland or certain parts of western Ukraine.

A word of caution on Abrams tank euphoria: It could be years before the tanks arrive. The 30 tanks will be through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which means they're contracted, and not pulled from existing stocks.

Many stories about Ukraine troops refusing to be sent as meat in a meatgrinder. Retreating, ignore and refuse any orders being given. Contrary to some, I feel for those guys especially if you see they are not volunteering but abducted from the streets at gunpoint. And for what, a corrupt leadership led by a Western agenda. Not worth dying for.
Given that the Ukraine government doesn't even track casualties and probably lost track who is still alive and fighting there is a chance these guys can evade prison time until the current government is gone.

A mandatory reaction would be the export ban from Russian Titan.
Only authorized dealers should be allowed to buy titanium and only in limited quantities (think of the CIA operation in the Cold War).
You do not have to punish the USA, but its stupid entourage.
Any export of certain products and raw materials must be checked so that they do not arrive in Europe.
