The worst thing that could happen is when Nato soldiers are deliviering those weapons themselves and then legitimately get destroyed.

The forces sent in to do the job was based on the number deemed necessary to get the job done.
It is not a huge force but taking all of the Ukraine was never their intention... capturing all of the Ukraine even with a force of 5 million would make an enormous number of vulnerable targets that the enemy could attack over and over again.
Sending a smaller force that has the fire power to defeat any number of enemy forces and give them air support and artillery support so any massed up enemy forces can be obliterated just makes sense.
Sending in extra force does not help... their problems are not related to lack of numbers, their problem is getting the enemy out of dug in fortified positions mixed in with civilians.
Having a small force there and getting the Orcs to form up and try to attack or counter attack is the ideal situation for the Russians because an attacking force is doomed to failure if the enemy are trained and know what they are doing and are well armed and have full artillery and air support.
This has nothing to do with a lack of money, or an urgency to make this end as quickly as possible.
This needs to be done right so it will take as long as it takes for the majority of Ukrainians to capitulate.
Their problems are not a lack of forces, sending in more troops or mobilising more troops at home just wastes resources and creates lots of targets for the enemy to attack and their supply lines too of course.
My reasoning is that, if we leave the situation to deteriorate to a position, where any side, through the use of massive conventional arms, as is expected in large force deployments, exerts an existential threat to the other side, that at this point, the use of nukes becomes irresistible. It is too late then to diffuse. The time to act is now, as a show of force or deterrence, for symbolic Nuke strikes, without casualties. As a means or last measure, to avert a real nuclear exchange.
The Americans have been bleating on about a potential use of tactical nuclear weapons by Putin... but they also claimed Assad use chemical weapons and that after Russia found their bio weapons labs that Russia might use biological weapons... sounds to me like they are talking about things they want to do and so blaming Russia for doing it first might ease the sting of them doing it first... already evidence of bioweapon spreading drones there...

In 2014 Putin had no pressing reason to invade the Ukraine... I think it makes sense... it is like not targeting Ukrainian forces barracks till they start attacking Russian forces and then strike the Barracks... you are sending a message that says we can kill you if we want and right now we don't want to... but piss us off and we can and we will.

These attacks on Russian territory by drones don't require enormous formations of enemy... small groups with drones could sneak in there and launch attacks whether there were Russian troops tied up holding that territory or not.
Might come as a shock but drones are still rather difficult targets and will represent a threat no matter where Russian troops are located... sending Russian troops to occupy large areas of land to prevent launches of drones will just lead to the US providing longer and longer ranged drones... is that worth the extra man power it would take to occupy the territory that is otherwise not very important...

What a motherload. I heard about this but I thought it was only for the Kherson region. Turns out it's for all of the Ukraine. So Russia knows straight away who all these people are and where they live. Guess they'll have to settle to living in the forest, or moving away as Russian forces advance, if they're not willing to give themselves up.

Well, looking how those eastern countries are involved in this war, Russia will smash them hard after they take Ukraine. Baltics will be annexed. Then Romania will be destroyed which will create a natural land route to Serbia.

Russia invested a lot of money in US debt until the US started to use it as a weapon, and has spent good money upgrading its rail and road network and its north sea route to support trade between Asia and the EU... you wouldn't do that if you were an enemy.. buying US debt means you are betting on the US economy not tanking because you want them to pay you back, and making trade cheaper and faster between the EU and Asia is not something an enemy would be a part of... they wanted trade and development and growth and so did China who spent a lot of money on large numbers of land and sea trade routes from Asia to the EU... but that didn't suit the US because they would suffer in such an arrangement... why trade with the US when the EU and Russia and Asia would have everything they already need so the sank it... but the trade routes can service the countries on the trade routes which can continue past the EU to Africa now...
When the EU grows up and wears big boy pants and can make its own decisions maybe trade is possible but they are going to get cold and hungry before that happens and a few countries are going to have to tell their politicians that if they don't care about their peoples lives then they might find themselves on the ends of ropes or kneeling under guillotines...

No there doesn't. The suggested presence of ships off the coast near Odessa should be enough to make Kiev think twice and three times about invading Moldova or any of its breakaway regions and that is all they have to do... when they are ready Odessa will be dealt with but why rush in to such a fight if they don't need to.
Rushing into a city to fight risks unnecessary Russian deaths and it doesn't help the Ukrainian civilians much either.
But Strelkov seldom sees the big picture. A drastic move such as mobilization, even partial, will mean an escalation and could prompt the Europeans to arm up too. Just a thought.
Perhaps solving military tasks is preferable with less people, just professionals is all. Mobilization is for if things go out of control.
Mobilisation is not cheap so you only do it if you think you really need it and it would be hard to justify at the moment really.

The Russians were hoping the EU would see sense and follow their own interests instead of buying in to the US bullshit, but it seems the EU has its own bullshit in regard to Russia... and that is fine, but Russia is now under no illusions that the west want them dead so moving forward it is all rather clear... continue in the Ukraine till the threats have been properly neutralised and dealt with and then look to the rest of the world for trade and development and growth that is mutual and not one sided like it is with the selfiish west.
I do agree with you mostly. But I quote him because he has battle and command experience and is well read on military matters so some of his criticisms are valid, and I post them as he provides a useful counterpoint to the hurra patriots. Also, when he does write, he gives operational summaries that are better and more detailed than those of Cassad.

They are saying they are going to modify and improve the performance of their next generation missiles... they are not saying they are running out of anything at all.
Anyway... the slow advance are the result of 3 main reasons:
They don't need to advance at the moment... let Ukrainian forces be destroyed trying to attack them in their current positions... they seem to be slaughtering them with little to no combat losses.
1. Enemy leadership alive, kicking, and untouched = coordinated command/resistance, and political defiance.
Enemy leadership alive and kicking and useless and totally ineffectual = leave them in place they are doing more good than harm... ordering counter attacks makes killing Orcs easier.
2. Civilian considerations - gag orders.
Call it what you like there are no reasons to advance if the enemy are coming to you and you have the bulk of their forces cornered and about to be rendered...
3. Enemy tactics and resupply (from the West)/freedom of movement.
They would stay in their bunkers if there were no weapons to hand them to push them into suicide attacks... if they sent food instead they could hold out for years, but sending weapons that get them killed in failed ambushes is getting through the male Ukrainian population just nicely.
The first one being the most important one and the reason, if this keeps on, that the war will last several months, even a year+ unless a side capitulates under the banner of compromise.
Putin's and cadre's lil game with the Ukranian leadership/West is very costly.
The advice you give to Russia is always a good indication of what they shouldn't do... how often has getting rid of Putin been the solution these last few years... take out Zelensky because obviously he is the military mastermind that is at the core of their success on the battlefield and why they have the Russians under pressure.... BTW. My personal opinion is that the US has it's eye on conquering Russia for it's natural resources, and the Ukraine conflict is just a part of that longer term plan. I base that opinion on the US track record of what it has done, over the past few decades, to other resource rich countries eg. in the Middle East and in South America.
