Russian special military operation in Ukraine #2

They did not say they're not employing UAV's. There is an almost 100% chance UAV's will be used somehow. There is however clearly no indication whatsoever that drone warfare for this current phase of the war will be at all employed. We would have seen signs of that already through photos of mobile operation commands and the birds themselves flying, at least on the Donbass etc.

Will UAV's come online later to mop and monitor, absolutely possible. What is clear is that it's not integrated with VDV assaults operations, nor with the moving battalions.

Russians are showing great tactical planning when it comes to troop movement and formations to encircle, and outflank their opponents. However their tools and hardware to facilitate victory for the operations is just lacking in some areas and it's a lot of Soviet legacy - mirroring top military leadership lineage settling on what's comfortable for them, as they were taught, and were brought up with. That must definitely change, and not at the current pace but at a much more accelerated, prioritized pace, in my opinion.

The situation with Odessa is complex. There were legit reports of fighting near it early yesterday but it has gone quiet. It looks like the regime managed
to throw back the first wave. I have no details. The bridge detonation sort of highlights that things did not go well. Russian forces
could have secured it.

The resistance in Odessa makes sense. The regime has to keep its goons active to repress the city and its surroundings. It is also
a strategic port asset. Zelensky ordered reinforcements to Odessa.

Odessa was just a distraction for the Ukrainians. Trying to take the city would take a lot more force than a few commandos. The Russian military just didn't want the Ukrainians to be sure where the real attacks were coming from during the early hours of the war.

The only clash in Odessa Oblast is the capture of Snake Island by Russian troops.

My sources say otherwise. Neither you nor I know what is going down.

Another factor in this operation was the ripening situation in Moldova. It is currently under a turbo-NATzO regime and was probably
going to stage some sort of action, in coordination with Khuyiv, against Transniester. These plans would appear to be on ice.

That command center in Kiev must be very well located and protected.

Russian special forces clearly trying hard to penetrate and get close to it.

Moving light armor through Kiev would indulge heavy casualties by riding amongst so many buildings, and alleyways. May require it if these SOF teams can't get it done. The other option being, flattening the place and surrounding area through aerial bombardment but that will probably involve a lot of civilian casualties and terrorize the populace, who despite whatever propaganda is being pushed elsewhere, has mostly stayed indoors and "cooperated".

There is a claim this is a mix of clips, the helicopter attack is claimed to be from 2014, a UKR heli attacking separatists.
And the second is supposed to be from CNN today of a wrecked UKR BUK outside poltava. I can see how it is suspicious, the colour of the smoke changes mid clip from white to black.
I have not seen the helicopter attack clip before but some other heli aviation nerds say they are 100%sure

Please mate, the capital of Ukraine is next to the border of Belanus. Ofcourse Russia is surrounding Kiev (still not taken).

A very costly war. Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk was more than enough for Russia. Putin made a costly mistake.
