The biggest problem for the Mi-28 is the 30x165mm cannon shell it fires... it is an excessively powerful round for a helo.
It is only accurate from a Ka-50/52 because the side mount is close to the centre of gravity of the helo so its recoil is taken by the entire helo.

A better solution for the Mi-28 could be replacing the gun with the twin barrel 23mm cannon of the last model Hind in a turret... much smaller more compact rounds of much lower recoil but heavy projectiles with decent HE content.

It is also apparently very accurate and is used on MiG-21s and MiG-23s.

Yes, but most think it is the opposite and that a turreted gun is king of all guns, not to mention it barely hits its target when looking more than 10° offbore.

Lighter guns are much better in turrets... 23 x 115mm for example and the 12.7mm guns of the early Hinds...

Russian bombing of terrorists in Syria have an excellent effect also in Iraq, because ISIS have to take their reserves of fighters and weapons from Iraq to Syria. Now they will have to take those reserves from Syria back to Iraq to cover the losses. This will be a good chance for RuAF and for Iraqi air force to bomb those convoys when moving around.

Abrams are manned by army tankers. The militia's (PMF) have been largely integrated within government as paramilitary forces.

Army and Pmu have already moved 15km up and took the fertiliser plant and Saddam's palace in makhour mountain as well as the supergun site there. Now forces are moving towards shirqat to cut off Mosul and hawija from each other.

Note that the effort in this battle was by Pmu mostly. Whereas the ramadi battle the Americans didn't want Pmu involved and speed.has been slower there as a result.

Obviously the US needs Iraq to bleed some more, so it can ask more "political reforms". I really pity you for having crossed their path. Bunch of motherf**** ass bandits.

Another power plants that feeds the city of in Aleppo was struck by US fighter jets. A commander of the Yazidi forces said that Yazidi militias are preparing the operation to liberate the city of Sinjar in the north-west of Iraq.

MOSCOW, (Sputnik) — Yazidi militias are preparing the operation to liberate the city of Sinjar in the north-west of Iraq, captured by the Islamic State (ISIL) militants in August 2014, Lukman Ibrahim, a commander of the Yazidi forces told Sputnik Tuesday.

The Yazidis are a Kurdish religious community living primary in northern Iraq's Nineveh Governorate, where Sinjar is situated.

According to Ibrahim, the offensive will involve at least 6,000 Yazidis supported by the Kurdish Peshmerga units.

In late April, lawmakers in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe called the ISIL actions against the Yazidi population, as well as against Shiite and Christian minorities, genocide.

Islamic State controls large parts of Iraq and Syria, and is notorious for committing numerous human rights atrocities and killings.

Security forces in Najaf arrested 4 individuals at a checkpoint as they tried to smuggle 80 Pistols + ammo.

Nothing very curious here whatsoever regarding news, happens every day, but what stunned me for a sec is the rifle you can see on first photo. Its Serbian Zastava M21A (baseline version) which was to my knowledge delivered in some amounts to Iraqi special forces and security contractors in Iraq. Also notice pistols, not common third world pistols made in basements.
