Syrian War: News #18 - Page 26 Empty Re: Syrian War: News #18

Post  GarryB Thu Sep 13, 2018 11:18 am

The question is... when this western attack comes... and claims it will be bigger... one has to ask are they prepared to be seen as fools when 2/3rds get shot down? Or will they target air defence systems this time... and will they limit themselves to Syrian air defence systems or will they go for Russian ones too?

I suspected the naval exercises in the Med are intended to extend the SAM range of coverage as a sort of early defence layer, but those ships also have plenty of anti ship and anti sub and anti aircraft missiles, so could they be deployed to push back western launch platforms to allow longer periods of warning and engagement?

And also potentially engage launch platforms if they launch too many missiles for the air defence forces to handle?

If Russian assets are going to contribute to the defence this time a single Su-35 could be armed with 12 air to air missiles perfectly capable of each bringing down a cruise missile no matter how low it flys.

Its radar and IRST could be used to detect and track targets that could be passed on to ground based missile systems.

Obviously it also adds the dimension that over zealous air defence forces could accidentally shoot down a friendly...

I am sure they know what they are doing...

Or do nothing. Then just say they are still helping terrorists. Even western people know they are helping them so the more they act against SAA the more their people will hate them. Intercept dangerous missiles that could do lot of dammage and let those who will destroy empty civilian buildings.

Targeting russian is a dream of stupid people like McCain who are just interested by destroying countries to see how their weapons work.

Many of the paramilitay forces of the opposition in Idlib are and always have been Turks from Turkey.

I see many people here moving now to a more realistic approach on Turkey.

Now they will understand why Russia never attacked the Kurds. Russia never was fooled.

One of the very few and rare voiced in US politics..

Ron Paul on Syrian tensions: 'US playing too many games with al-Qaeda'

Tulsi Gabbard de democrat lawmaker accused Washington DC and Pentagon
of aiding Alqaeda too.. she told how hypocritical is for Trump and pence to visit the 911 victims
events and honor them ,while aiding Alqaeda in Syria.. lol1

She is the biggest pain in the ass of the US congress.. for spoking too much truth.

Not really near Al-Tanf at all.  It was part of the operation south of As Sukhnah. Al-Tanf is on the Syria-Baghdad highway near the border.

So no operation in Idlib. They have reached an agreement with Erdogan.

Does anyone know what is the agreement ? It is suspicious that russians stoped it.

Putin said that they agreed with Turkey to create a demilitarised zone of 15-20 kilometres wide between rebels and Syrian government forces by 15 of October.

Russian and Turkish forces will patrol the demilitarised zone. Radical rebel groups, including Al-Nusra Front, will withdraw from the zone, and heavy weapons held by Syrian rebels in Idlib city should be handed over by October 10.

This approach, Putin said, is supported by the Syrian government of Bashar Al-Assad.

Turkey's president Erdogan said that his country will carry out coordinated patrols in the demilitarised zone in Idlib with the Russians.

'No new offensive' on Syria's rebel-held city of Idlib, says Russia

Your guess is as good as mine. This guy WithinSyria is one I monitor. He said a couple of moments ago that the anti air action has now lasted 40 mins against a normal IAF action of 15 mins.

Targets by him and others have been described as SAA bases and a factory. Who knows?

    EDIT

Videos at this link, seems quiet now.

From the wires, as they used to say

Pentagon spokesman Navy Cmdr. Sean Robertson tells VOA on Syrian claims of engaging missile targets over #Latakia "I can unequivocally say this is not us."

The SAA said in an official statement tonight that the strike was carried out by warplanes of the Israeli Air Force. The target was a technical industrial complex in Latakia and two service members were killed as a result.

This is rather serious. If Russia doesn't respond, Putin can be impeached as his ratings are dropping as is.

This is actually an act of war. Major one too.

Russian AA systems were active (launched missiles) for the first time since war started

    Something nasty is happening

Either Israelis lost their minds or they screwed up royally, could be either

Russians were shooting at something so in addition to missiles they may have also caught aircraft, we'll have to wait and see

But since they are calling it missing instead of shot down it's also possible that it could have been friendly fire by SAA air defense

So either war with Israel, friendly fire by SAA or f**kup by Israel

Or it might be simple air crash but during airstrike of all times? Not likely so one of those three listed above.

There are already twitter accounts trying to spin this as a blue-on-blue from Russia itself or the SyAA.

I call bullshit on this one and if this turns out to be Israel or France then a response must follow. I don't know which response specifically and I don't want lives go to waste but this is beyond fucked up.

Can't be blue on blue as their AD systems are Interconnected with a friendly identifier.

    So this was either:
    Coincidence as it crashed
    Or
Shot down by Israel or France.

I doubt it's France, no balls and no motivation (unless accidentally). If it was them then sink the ship in question, pretty straightforward. If it was accidental give them an hour to get their asses to Moscow and start kissing asses, apologizing indefinitely and giving tribute. If not then fire away, that ship ain't going nowhere in one hour.

Same for Israel except in their case it would be different target (aircraft/airbase?)

If friendly fire then start eating humble pie I guess.
