Looks like a pretty ambitious operation.


"New" Syrian Army being formed (what happened to the Free one)...according to the Russians, the bulk of the new recruits are former IS fighters.
But the number mentioned is 750 fighters....so not many of them atm

China has a vested interest in ensuring as many as possible stay there (permanently) or at least to identify potential Islamist returnees. Of course and that's why we witnessed all that chaos regarding AbuKamal, like I explained and even draw on map in my posts earlier in the thread. To block one Iran-Iraq-Syria-Lebanon-Israel supply route USrael used their ISIS proxy. Along with that, they directly occupied (under "FSA" proxy guise this time) and fiercly defended (also shot down Iranian-made armed drone) the desert area in southern Syria (al-Tanf) which is the second blocked supply route from Iran to Lebanon (third one is blocked by Kurds in North-east Syria). However, they couldn't prevent Russia from attacking ISIS in Deir Ezzor province as they (US, Israel, coalition and Arab puppet-allies) themselves officially acknowledged that ISIS are terrorists and pretended they want to destroy them, so they instead used SDF proxy to race with SAA in reaching AbuKamal while doing their best to slow down SAA by redeploying all ISIS to their fronts, while recording fake propaganda videos of Kurds fighting ISIS.
Now Iran will resuply Syria and Russia doesn't have to be involved as much. I have to say once again, a very well done job and hat off to Russia, Iran and Syria on outmanouvering US/Israel despite all their proxy shenanigans.

The dumb Kurd traitors got outsmarted by literally everyone and will now be flushed down the drain as they are nothing more than used toilet paper.

As for Iranian convoy, good news if true. Someone needs to plug holes in the south and patrol the desert because Al Quds are fucking up.

Idlib is coming up soon and south needs to be handled during that.

Yes, there all those SDF units on the western bank of the Euphrares up near Raqqa that really shouldn't be there. Got to be the first objective.

As for Russia's involvement:

1) bases remain

2) AAD remain

3) Tartus will be developed to have status of naval base

4) correct me if I am wrong but wasn't period of sand storms there? so war on open spaces will be mildly speaking hard?

Then after 4 months of refreshing resting new upgraded equipment and contingent can return...

I find it quite hilarious that there are people out there who even hope that Russia will be leaving those bases anytime before this century is out, probably not even then...

It's a deep topic and one has to have a lot of background knowledge, and albeit very roughly, I have tried to explain this in my other posts on this forum (Syria, Iraq and Yemen war threads), so you can read them if you want to.

US was not opposed to ISIS, they were only officially claiming to be opposed to it. On the ground the story was the other way around. One could notice that ISIS was only growing even though US-led coalition was allegedly fighting against it - in reality this was nothing more than a pretext for US/Israel gang to get better access to Syria so they can supply, inform and command their proxies more efficiently. ISIS started taking damage and shrinking only after Russia stepped in. Other than that, the events reported by eyewitnesses in Iraq and Syria, such as choppers dropping supplies to ISIS and evacuating important ISIS figures such as commanders (aka US military commanders and intelligence agents) from battlefields to other fronts, army bases and field hospitals have been mentioned repeatedly on social networks and leaked in non-mainstream media. Syria and Iran said numerous times that US/Israel are behind ISIS and this was the case from day one. Every strategic move ISIS made over the years of its existance was in line with US/Israel goals in the region. Even Russian Defense Ministry stated the obvious a couple of times when they had to deal with US preventing them from fighting ISIS, evacuating them, providing intelligence etc. Last time such incidents happened in Abu Kamal, one of them resulting in Russia being forced to use long range heavy bombers.
Besides, such an organized and large capable fighting force with loads of weapons on its disposal has to have state sponsors, it's theoretically impossible to be self sufficient and have such capabilities by stealing weapons and selling oil (who buys ISIS oil btw?) stolen from captured oil fields. That's a silly thing to believe, but media does a very good job at making people believe silly things (I used to be a victim as well). So, without US/Israel and their stooges there would be no ISIS to begin with.

Also, US didn't strenghten Iraq, on the contrary, after invading Iraq they disbanded the Iraqi army and weakened the country as much as possible thus enabling ISIS proxy to take over fast and with close to no resistance when the time was right - and the time was right after they invaded Syria using fake revolution based on proxy Al-Qaeda and other mercenary terrorist (sub-)groups as primary fighting force. ISIS was in Iraq to block Iran from supplying and fighting in Syria, because the main and only land suply routes from Iran to Syria go trough Iraq. It took time for Iraq and Iran to organize the fight against ISIS in Iraq, and US was slowing them down on many levels as they have air/ground military presence and are infiltrated in Iraqi government and newly formed Iraqi army. US didn't exactly tolerate their moves in Iraq - Iraqi PMU, which was backed by Iran and was a leading fighting force against ISIS in Iraq actually refused fighting while the US-led coalition aircraft was operating above them due to leaking of their positions and even "accidental friendly-fire" airstrikes. ISIS is proxy just like any other, but organized and presented differently in order to complete different 'special' tasks. Since Iranians couldn't clean up Iraq on time and simultaneously save Syria from which they were cut off, Russia had to step in.
