OVERVIEW OF BATTLE FOR DEIR EZZOR CITY ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2017 (MAP)

On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and their allies continued their effort aimed at expanding a corridor between the 137th Brigade Base and the government-held area west of Deir Ezzor city.

Last night, ISIS made a series of attempts to cut off the corridor and to re-establish a siege on Deir Ezzor. The terrorist group used at least one SVBIED that allegedly caused some casualties to the SAA but failed to over-run government forces defense lines in the area.

Meanwhile, the SAA, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, further advanced against ISIS positions at the Sukhna-Deir Ezzor highway. On Tuesday, pro-government sources reported that the SAA re-entered the Kobajjep area after repelling few ISIS counter-attacks. However, on Wednesday, the area faced another wave of fierce clashes and appeared to be contested again.

ISIS poses a stiff resistance to the advancing government forces in the area of Deir Ezzor. Nonetheless, ISIS units have not been able to pose a real threat to SAA supply lines in the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Homs.

Some local sources say that this is a result of the terrorist gorup’s lack of manpower and military equipment for counter-attacks on multiple frontlines.

They got the bit between their teeth now. The SAA is starting to look like a proper army, increasing in strength all the time as their number of fronts reduces and their morale is boosted. They are rapidly heading towards a real confrontation with the SDF. I hope the Western SF and other units have a rapid escape route because it doesn't look as if they want to stop until they get all their country back.

Whilst he may not be the key strategic SAA commander speaking, as the Tiger leader he is certainly the most important in the public's eyes.

So according to MSM, some UN panel has now stated that the Syrian government was behind the chemical attack.

What's the whole story here? In any case, I'm sure that is not the end of the "debate", that's for sure.

For one, I still can't believe it, makes no sense. But if SAA really did it, the Russians must have been absolutely furious behind the scenes. An extremely stupid, and pretty much irrational, move.

Israeli missiles strike Syrian military in Masyaf, 2 soldiers killed: confirmed

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:50 A.M.) – At approximately 2:42 A.M. (Damascus Time) on Thursday morning, several Israeli missiles traveling across Lebanon struck the Syrian military and the scientific research facility in the northeast Tartous city of Masyaf.

According to the Syrian Arab Army’s official statement, the Israeli missiles killed at least two soldiers and several more were wounded after the missiles scored direct hits on their intended targets.

Syria’s general command has warned of “dangerous repercussions of this aggressive action to the security and stability of the region” while reiterating its “resolve and determination to crush terrorism and uproot it from all the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic” regardless of the terrorist groups’ allegiances and sources of support.

This latest attack by the Israeli forces comes just 48 hours after the Syrian Arab Army achieved a strategic victory against the Islamic State (ISIL) in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

I finally made an effort to give a crap about Israel politics and it looks to me that this is Bibi's election play.

He came back from last meeting in Russia with some happy words, probably because they threw him a bone with this.

And that money scandal won't make itself go away on it's own.

All israeli airstrikes looks like something for public consumption, not real game changers on the ground. It is not like they are bombing SAA advancing forces, or stopping them reach Daer.
One US attack on Daer last year, has done more damage than all Israelis strikes in last 2 years.

I am 100% certain that there is a deal about those strikes between Russia Israel. And we will see for how long.

If some PR stunts here and there far away from front lines are price to make sure SAA keeps taking whole provinces at record pace without geopolitical nonsense then it's a bargain.

The attacked site seems to be the place that Israel denounced as a new industry for production of Iranian designed material.

I tend to think that Syria retired the key material, if it was something, and by the time of the attack it was nothing important to destroy there. And the attack was not answered.
