This damage won't be repaired in a hurry. But then true believers have no need for electricity, their lives are powered by faith from the 8/9th Century.

Oh and Assad was apparently supplying the electricity at no cost, the local terrorists were charging locals for it. Looks like they got too greedy and killed the Golden Goose.

U.S. Coalition Cleansing Raqqa of Arabs to Expand Kurdish “Autonomous Region."

    http://www.globalresearch.ca/u-s-coalition-cleansing-raqqa-of-arabs-to-expand-kurdish-autonomous-region/5595558

All this points to the US using their divide and conquer strategies, this can all be thrown back at the US, if Russia Iran, Turkey, Iraq and SAA and Allies work together, also how ill the Arabs react to this, is the big question.

Turkey, the same Turkey that has inside the own territory US nuclear weapons looking at Russia?

This article is fake. With what forces would be doing the US this supposed cleansing in favor of the Kurds? The US has not enough for something like that.

Do not you realize that something like this would make every Arab going out of the joint forces with the Kurds? Do not you realize that something like that would mean an internal war between the forces attacking Raqqa?

Seriously, I can not believe to see here some people as weak to the anti-Kurd propaganda of the West.

Hello eehnie, hope everything is fine. It has been known for a while that Kurds have been ethic cleansing of Arabs in parts of Syria, the US just gets the Kurds, to do it for them. Russia does not need to become best friends with Turkey, they just need Turkey to help them out with the Kurds.

Man, Haaretz pop-up ads are definitely not helping alleviate the well entrenched stereotypes about ''Jewish greed''  No

To save you guys the hassle here is the whole thing, kinda big news of sorts:

Macron Breaks With Previous French Policy, Says Sees No Legitimate Successor to Syria's Assad

'Assad is the enemy of the Syrian people, not of France,' Macron says in interview with European newspapers

    http://www.haaretz.com/world-news/europe/1.797152?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

President Emmanuel Macron said in remarks published on Wednesday that he saw no legitimate successor to Syrian President Bashar Assad and that France no longer considered his departure a pre-condition to resolving the six-year conflict.

"The new perspective that I have had on this subject is that I have not stated that Bashar Assad's departure is a pre-condition for everything because nobody has shown me a legitimate successor," Macron said in an interview to eight European newspapers.

He said Assad was an enemy of the Syrian people, but not of France and that Paris' priority was a total commitment to fighting terrorist groups and ensuring the country did not become a failed state.

His comments are in stark contrast to the previous French administration and echo Moscow's stance that there was no viable alternative to Assad.

I don't need the respect. of a fucking moron .
Everyone knows Serbia is a landlocked nation. But because your incredibly retard.
You are not aware about NATO Tomahawk cruise missiles ,that they are not usually launched from the land. but from the Sea. Russia will need a powerful navy ,ideally closer to US navy in italy waters positions ,to intercept their missiles quickly as soon they launched..to defend Serbia if it is attacked just like Syria. With a powerful navy also can be used as deterrence
to US navy in the zone when the war start. and shut down their planes before enter in Serbia. Russia Airforce could assist flying over the bulgarian side. But cruise missiles will need to be stopped. And since NATO have many military bases in ITALY ,it can launch a lot of cruise missiles on Serbia and get a really big navy there ,to overwhelm its defenses. Russia deployed With a strong naval force near Serbia/italy ,  can serve as major deterrence to NATO to stop
any attack.  And no , you SOLO will do no shit.  Serbia alone attacked from all sides will collapse in a few weeks , if left alone and attacked the Syrian way from all sides ,Because you will have enemies just like Syria in all borders. in fact it will be worse ,because at least Syria have a coast ,but Serbia none.

No well funded rat tag group will overwhelm Serbia. Only a NATO intervention, under whatever pretext (perhaps to erradicate these very same terrorist as Vann's puts it) will. Russia can't do jack shit for Serbia. It lost Yugoslavia a long time ago - one of the many great casualties of the collapse of the USSR. Should focus on saving Ukraine and keeping Belarus - as they're next.

I'll say though Vann's diatribes are easier to stomach that the blind ignorance and willfull denial of some people here in certain subjects...eehnie with the Kurds being an easy example. The Iran/Russian strategic partnership being another for some folks.

Russia needs to help Serbia ,even in a limited way.. if not do it. it will be betraying
their allies and send the wrong message to the entire world .that if you are allied with Russia
,that you will be doomed. because they will not help you. So if Russia encouraged Serbia
to resist American Imperialism ,then now it can't tell them Good luck. fight on your own. No

And this is one of another of Russia major mistakes since Putin came to power.
He promotes nations to resist American Imperialism ,to fight for their independence.
and then they go and deploy a military base there. This give false hopes to any nation
that they will be fully defended . Russia needs to stay away from any alliance with any
nation ,that they are not prepared to defend in full. This is because any Russian ally will automatically be placed on the Hit list. So Russia policy of trying to compete with Americans
without fighting them ,is very destructive for its allies. And Syria is paying a huge price ,for
being close to Russia and IRAN. and Serbia will be another victim too.  Russia Government needs to stop encouraging other nations to resist NATO , if it is not prepared to defend them later in full.

What allies? Serbia and Russia are not allies.

Just because we are not hostile towards each other does not mean we are allies.

    Friendship =/= Alliance

We are friendly with Japan. You think that makes Serbia and Japan allies?

Vann7 wrote:.....So if Russia encouraged Serbia to resist American Imperialism ,then now it can't tell them Good luck. fight on your own. ....

Yes they can and that is precisely what they did.

And nobody here gives a shit about fighting "American imperialism". Why would anyone give a crap about it in the first place? Entire planet is standing in line to sign up for that same imperialism.

We were fighting for survival. What others do wherever the hell they live and who they do it with is no concern of ours.

For us we come first, as for others zero fucks given at any given moment regardless of their GPS coordinates.

Putin to Kurdistan24: We understand sensitivity of Kurdish cause

MOSCOW, Russia (Kurdistan24) – The Russian President on Thursday praised the Kurdistan Region Peshmerga forces in the fight against terror and said that Russia’s relations with Kurds would continue.

Speaking to a Kurdistan24 correspondent in Moscow, Vladimir Putin praised the role of Kurdish forces in the fight against terrorism and reiterated Russia-Kurds good relations.

“We are always been in good relations with the Kurds and there is no reason to end such relations with Kurds,” Putin said.

“We have to fulfill our current mission which is the war against terrorism,” he added.

Regarding the cooperation between Russia and Kurdistan Region, Putin referred to the last visit of the Region’s delegation headed by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) PM Nechirvan Barzani, stating “Such relations will be further developed and we actively work with Iraq on the matter.”

“We understand the sensitivity of the Kurdish cause,” Putin said, and referring to the Kurdistan Region independence referendum added that “our position on the matter has been clear since long time ago; our position would be within the international law.”

In a meeting on June 7, chaired by the Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani, the political parties in Kurdistan agreed to hold an independence referendum on Sep. 25, 2017.

In reaction to that decision, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on June 8, said that “Russia supports the unity and territorial integrity of the Iraqi state with unconditional respect for and observance of the legitimate rights of all its ethnic and religious groups, of which the Kurds are the largest.”

Sir, Why are you so afraid of nuclear weapons in Turkey? Those are just stupid B-61's, Which can't go to any target without combat plane. Those are just Tactical nuclear weapons. There are some Iskander missile in Armenia and There is also Russian Airbase in Armenia but Turkey is still developing relations with Russia.

Hate has nothing to do with anything here - the Kurds pose an existential threat to Russia if they gain autonomy/statehood given their relationship with the United States. So, adding another potential launching pad for american forces/meddling in the region is an ABSOLUTE NO NO. No one in the region can for certain be sure the Kurds, giving absolute autonomy of territory, wouldn't do whatever the fuck they please with it. If Russia/Turkey/Iran can't stop them from becoming an autonomous state/region then forget about Russia having the power to prevent the Kurds from hosting american bases/missiles etc (like South Korea/Japan/Eastern Europe/Gulf) - no treaty and no ink guarantees anything in this world - as the U.S proves, again and again. You mention the Kurds relationship with Russia as if it's more than a token relationship - it's not. The Kurds are not Russian allies - no such thing as allies - tomorrow an "ally" can point a fucking cannon at your head depending on the mood of the era or who's in power - take for example, recent Ukraine.

Putin is a statesman and will tread carefully and diplomatically with a group he needs collaboration to end the Syrian conflict - simple as that. The Kurds will lick Russia's boot to get their own state - but only for that and security. The Kurds and the Americans on the other hand, now that's a deeper relationship which will, inevitably, if allowed to blossom and grow, result in a geopolitical disaster for the powers that allowed such to occur when they had the chance to prevent it. Not to mention the fact that it's a blatant land grab. The U.S is not helping the Kurds for a charitable cause, because of "freedom" or terrorism - nothing humanitarian here - the U.S sees the Kurds as a potential mini-Israel right in Russia's underbelly and at the heart of Iraq/Syria. Russians know it, Iran knows it, Syria knows it, Turkey for sure as hell knows it, and more importantly, the Kurds themselves know it.

Here is one thing you should really understand once and for all: The Kurds want their own state. For that they need territory not only from Syria and Iraq but potentially from Turkey as well = land grab secession. None of the states involved will be happy having chunk of their territories stolen so a new house for a new owner can be built next door. As such, deadly animosity is bound to exist which will force the Kurds to look for big power support - mainly the U.S/Europe and their lackies - this will not come for free. You're either for that knowing the thousands of ways such an event can spiral out of control and come back to bite Turkey/Syria/Iraq/Russia/Iran in the ass or, you can believe they're angels because they behave like good dogs (strategically knowing they need big power backing to get what they want - spearheaded by U.S support). "Good dogs" relative to the salafist dogs running wild in Syria. The fact is the Kurds are a secessionist militancy - and every time you see things like "Free" Syrian Army or Syrian "Democratic" Forces - branding out of America's playbook - usually its source leads to the CIA - and it should ring a loud warning bell if the U.S is anywhere near it or if it has something to gain. Also another fact that flies over our head is how every time we refer to the Kurds we don't refer to them as Syrians, Iraqi's or Turks, but we separate them into a whole different group - just goes to show how far their militancy for secession has gotten in geopolitical lingo. This is a golden opportunity for the Kurds, and I'm sure they'll fight tooth and nail to maximize gains for their cause. As such, the effort by those opposed to such an idea should be just as strong in commitment.

Getting the Turks to flip into the Russian sphere, (at worst neutral), should always be a goal to Russia for however long it takes, decades or centuries - has nothing to do with love. It has to do with economics, and security. Exploiting friction between the Turks and NATO/U.S, and get closer to Turkey should be applauded. If the Kurds happen to strategically get in the way of multiple goals for Russia, like, SAA advancing to Deir, keeping Syria's territory whole, and/or avoiding Kurdish territorial expansion (among many others) then Russia will, hopefully, take measures to send a message. If that message is not received well and rebuffed (a message which seems to be getting prepared to be sent w/ Turk movement to Afrin) then more drastic measures will be taken against the Kurds. You'll sit and watch it all.

By the way, since you fixate so much on Americans "using" the Kurds to advance their agenda of hate in pitting "everyone" against the good Kurds, then why haven't the Kurds asked the Americans to leave and instead request assistance from Russia? I'll tell you why they won't - only one simple reason: Russia will not grant the Kurds what they want - their own state. After all, U.S aid to the Kurds is easily replaceable for Russia - as long as the Kurds agree to no partitioning of Syria and reconciling with a new Syrian Government/Assad. As a matter of fact, the Kurds are not needed in Raqqah at all. The SAA can handle Raqqah. But everyone knows this - thus, again, blind ignorance, willful denial. The Kurds should pick their allies better....not the main architect of the Syrian crisis - UNLESS, you have something to gain from that crisis and see such an allegiance as fruitful towards your goals - so sufficiently important that you do not care how that relationship might be viewed by those opposed to this architect and his plans. In short, as a religious person would put it; the Kurds have sinned.

Turkish Army is preparing an assault against YPG to capture Tell Rifaat, Shaykh Issa and Menagh(and maybe Afrin?). Syrian government closed the roads between Afrin and Aleppo several days ago.

    Just some questions..
Will Turkey people and erdogan will welcome a foreign nation ,that invades illegally
with an Army your country in an army disrespecting you ,your nation , your territory ,your authority. and provide weapons to mercenary fighters that are very hostile to your people ,
and kill your soldiers to take control of your cities? if they claim they are fighting terrorism?

So the question is simple.. can be answered in 2 ways. .
    1)
Yes Erdogan and Turkey people will welcome a foreign invasion on its country
by a foreign army armed with weapons ,to take control of our cities ..if they say
they do not want to partition my nation and just want to fight terrorism.

2)No way ... any foreign army who invades my country without consulting my country
is an act of war and no matter what they claim ,they will be enemies.

So which will be your answer?
Will you welcome a foreign nation ,lets say Greece ,to invade Turkey territory with a powerful
army if they say is for a good cause of fighting terrorism?

And if your answer is #2.. No way..
then why you expect Syrians and Russia to see in a good light ,what ERdogan is doing?
ERdogan actions only helps ISIS . because if Turkey move troops towards Syrian border
it force the Syrian army to stop fighting terrorist in their country to send them towards Syrian border to counter Turkey attacks ,so that their positions are not over Run if Turkey decides to continue advancing until they stopped.

It not hard to be honest , try it . and you will see that Erdogan is not a friend of Syrians.
but is part major of the problem. His actions undermine the security of Syria and help terrorism. either directly by arming Rebels hostile to Syrian army. or indirectly by moving its
    army towards Syrian border.

    @ATLASCUB

Indeed , Putin and Russia will never support kurdish independence. They welcome constructive relations with them , but a support of Kurdistan in any country ,because pose a major threat
to the stability not only of the country ,but also the others too ,that have kurds.

A kurdistan in Syria ,will promote a kurdistan in IRAQ and IRAN and another in Turkey.
Is something that United nations will never support. officially at least. But Americans
and Israel are pushing for it. And the backstabber of Erdogan , will have to pay a big price
if betray Russia again.. because Americans will be arming Kurds and gulenist too.,and this weapons will be used against Turkey sooner or later. Turkey will need allies and it can't trust in Americans. Russia only wants peace in the region ,but that can't happen while Turkey continues with its army invading Syria .Turkey could end with its own Freedom fighters a free turkey army ,if continue backstabbing Russia ,by threatening the security of Syria.

Russian Consulate: Russia could support Kurdish Independence

The Consulate-General of Russia in the Kurdistan Region, Victor Simakov in an interview with K24 broadcast December 11 said Russia was one of the first countries among the world most powerful that opened a Consulate in Erbil.

Simakov, who has been in Erbil for a year, said that he feels very close to the Kurdish community since they are an open and understanding people. Previously, he was employed at Russia's Consulate in Palestine.

Asked about why Russia did not militarily assist the Kurdistan Region in the war against IS Simakov replied, “We need time to work carefully and to clarify our position according to this condition.”

Simakov continued that though Russia has not given heavy weapons to Peshmerga forces, they provided them with other military equipment necessary for Peshmerga like chemical-proof masks protecting them from IS chemical attacks and also pointed out Russia helped Kurdish forces fighting against IS in Syria.

Regarding Russia’s stance towards the Kurdistan Region’s independence, Simakov said, “we support a country in the context of international law with the name 'Iraq,' and this will help fight IS more effectively. Though there have been lots of conflicts among Shia, Sunni, and Kurds in Iraq, they have lived together throughout history. I think the related parties can compromise once more and maintain the union among them.”

However, in referencing the former Soviet Union when it collapsed in the early 1990s Simakov said: “There is a UN bylaw in which it has clearly been mentioned that each nation has the right to determine its destiny. My stance is that independence is the right of every nation.” He continued, “It’s for the different Iraqi components to decide on this matter. We support whatever decision they make, provided that no outsiders contribute. Russia, as one of the five permanent members of the Security Council always supports international laws. If any of the Iraqi sides--without any outside interference ….decides to become independent, Russia will respect their decision.” He added.

Regarding the Kurdistan Region’s potential to declare independence, while Palestine and Kosovo—countries that announced independence but failed to receive appropriate support by other superpowers, Simakov said, “The U.S recognized Kosovo, but Russia has not so far. And the only reason for that is, Russia relies on the international laws. Kosovo separated from Serbia in an illegal way. They must have conducted a referendum to gain the opinion of Kosovo people on the separation first.”

Simakov continued “As for Palestine, Russia always supports the Palestinian government and has cooperated with them in establishing many internal institutions and committees regarding Palestine-related issues. Palestine’s case was decided in the Security Council in 1947 to be given this right. Even the United States voted to the decision." Regarding Russia’s recent attacks on Syria and criticisms that it only targets anti-regime forces rather than IS, Simakov said Russia became involved in Syria based on the regimes' request to confront Islamic State (IS).

“From September 3, we started serious combat against IS. Before Russia entered Syria, President Vladimir Putin informed all sides during a UN meeting that we are going to fight against IS. All the members, including the United Stets of America, Germany, the European Union, and all other member-states in the coalition against IS were informed. Even before we started our attacks against IS many media outlets said that Russia is secretly taking part in the Syrian war, all of which were just baseless accusations.”

“On October 7, Deputy Defense Minister of Russia [Anatoly Ivanovich Antonov] invited all the military officials of those countries to Moscow and informed them about Russia's decision. We had prepared a concise plan on how to confront and destroy IS and delivered it to all the representatives of the countries in Moscow.”

Simakov also stated that other groups like Jabhat al-Nusra, armed Turkmen forces as well as the Islamic State are referred to as terrorist organizations by Russia.

He also mentioned that after the plan was distributed, military representatives of many countries formally asked to share their ideas about the plan and cooperate in confirming the target spots specified as IS bases as being true and whether there were any shortcomings in the plan.

“Though, unfortunately, none of these countries have had had a clear response. Not Washington, nor Britain, and even the Arab countries that contribute to anti-IS coalition responded to us.” Simakov said.

“Our purpose is not to control Syria, but to destroy the Islamic State. It’s for this purpose that we always ask other countries to reveal their position on the groups that we attack them. Nobody can deny this evidence,” he added.

Regarding US-Russian relations Simakov stated, “Russia has lots of conflicts with the U.S but we insist ... that we now have a mutual enemy, so we need to work on that ... Russia’s main purpose for negotiating with Syria and other countries is to destroy IS in Iraq and Syria.”

Russia’s Consul-General in Erbil claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin twice mentioned that Russia is in Syria to destroy IS, not to protect Bashar al-Assad's regime. Russia believes that Syria needs reform but that this will be declared in two stages, both of which are important to Russia and are complementary to each other. The purpose of the first phase is to destroy IS while the second phase concerns reform though it was unclear what the details of such a reform would look like.

Simakov also mentioned that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, has attended all events on resolving the Syrian crisis in Geneva and Vienna, and always openly expressed the way Russia intends to eradicate IS.

“We have tried to create a mutual stance among all Syrian opposition groups inside and outside of Syria and to cooperate with them. Russia has a clear policy; it says we negotiate with every party, be it Kurd, Turkmen, or any other party” he explained.

Concerning Russia’s position towards Kurds in Syria as a group that has created partial autonomy, he said Russia constantly negotiates with all representatives, including those in Syrian Kurdistan cantons and have hosted the leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim in Moscow several times.

“Russia clearly says that in any future democratic Syria, the rights of all the different ethnic and religious groups must be protected without discrimination and this is our transparent policy.”

The Russian Consulate-General stated that though Russia has not sent any weapons and ammunition to Syrian Kurds, they are working on furthering cooperation.

Simakov denied Turkish media claims that Russia provided weapons to the armed wing of the PYD, the People’s Protection Units (YPG). “Turks are very good at lying; they have also lied about downing our [Russian] jet many times, and they still continue even with bigger lies. I do apologize for expressing my view in such a non-diplomatic way." his said. Simakov concluded the interview by congratulating the Kurdish people and Peshmerga for retaking Shingal (Sinjar) from the Islamic State last month.
