Serbian Army to Take Part in Victory Day Parade in Moscow

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic decided Monday that a unit representing the Serbian Army will participate in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow May 9, the country's Ministry of Defense told Sputnik.

Sputnik Serbia has confirmed that the Serbian military will take part in the parade, after an invitation from Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Commenting on the decision, Serbian military analyst Aleksandar Radic told Sputnik that the participation will be a proud first for the Serbian Army, which has never participated in military parades abroad in its modern history.

"Serbia, that is, the former Yugoslavia, fought on the side of the anti-Hitler coalition, and it would be completely unreasonable to renounce the traditions which bind us with the victor countries, with those countries which created the post-war world. Now, in a highly symbolic gesture, we are returning to our participation in the Victory Parade," Radic noted.

Serbian political scientist Aleksander Pavic added that he believes that Serbia's participation in the parade has a tremendous symbolic significance. "We are definitely part of the coalition [of victors], considering how many Serbs were killed in the Second World War. We had not one, but two anti-fascist projects, and we have the right to say that we were the first to rebel in a Europe enslaved by Nazism."

Commenting on the Serbian government's decision, Russian military expert Viktor Barents told Sputnik that Serbia's involvement in the parade on Red Square will "serve as a symbol of Slavic unity, and a good foundation for the future."

    That is EXCELLENT news...

May I also suggest that the Banderites, Poles and the Baltic fleas have their own counter-parade, along with the Gay Rights marchers and the Legalise Pedophilia Now crowd.  That way, the disparity in crowd numbers will send a clear message that even the Western MSM media pressitutes couldn't miss...

    Good news.

    It's important symbolically.

In a March interview with the Serbian liberal newspaper Blitz, Eduard Kukan, a European Parliament deputy from Slovakia, said that Nikolic should restrict his forthcoming visit to Moscow by laying a wreath to the grave of an unknown soldier near the Kremlin Wall but should not be present at the military parade on Red Square on May 9.

The Serbian president replied that he considered it indecent for someone to give a piece of advice if he was not asked for it.

    China and Serbia for sure.
So that's USSR + China + Yugoslav partisans; a large portion of the anti-Hitler/anti-Japan coalition already. Maybe Greece can chip in with a contingent of its own forces too?

The Western allies are supporting the descendants of the Banderites against Russia. They can go hold a parade with them maybe.

Russia to Showcase Iskander Missiles During V-Day Parade

More than 1,000 troops and dozens of modern missile and artillery pieces and armored vehicles will take part in a Victory Day military parade in Volgograd, in southern Russia.

The list of the cutting-edge weapons systems to be rolled out during the May 9 display includes, among others, the Iskander mobile theater ballistic missile system and the Bereg and Khosta self-propelled artillery systems, the Southern Military District’s press service said on Wednesday.

Also taking part in the parade on the city’s Fallen Heroes square will be T-90A tanks, BMP-3 armored vehicles, MSTA and Khosta self-propelled guns, Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers, TOR, Strela-10 and Tunguska air-defense systems, Tigr armored cars and other hardware.

Czech Gov’t Divided on President Zeman's V-Day Visit to Moscow

After a heated debate on Wednesday the Czech government postponed until next meeting decision on President Milos Zeman's May 9 trip to Moscow to attend Victory Day celebrations, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka told reporters.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting Bohuslav Sobotka said his Social Democratic party would not block President Zeman's trip to Moscow in a sign of gratitude to the memory of the Soviet soldiers who died liberating Czechoslovakia from Nazi occupation during WW2, Czech media reported.

The junior ruling Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) warned beforehand that they would not support it if Zeman were to attend a military parade on Red Square.

"I have nothing against paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives during the war, but under the present circumstances I think it would be inappropriate for our president to attend a military parade in Moscow,” Deputy PM and KDU-CSL chairman Pavel Belobradek said.

Deputy PM and Finance Minister Andrej Babis, leader of the centrist ANO party, said Zeman would be right if he reconsidered his decision to go to Moscow on May 9.

However, Milos Zeman insists on it saying if he did not attend the celebrations, he would offend 150,000 Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Czechoslovakia.

If the cabinet did not approve it, Zeman would have to pay it from his own resources. The costs are put at 600,000 crowns, but excluding the military special plane.

Greek President Pavlopoulos to Attend May 9 Victory Day in Moscow – Reports

A full list of the participants in the events devoted to commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nazi Germany surrender and the end of World War II will be announced by the end of April.

ATHENS (Sputnik) — Greece President Prokopis Pavlopoulos will represent his country at the May 9 Moscow Victory Day celebration, Greek TV channel Antenna said on Thursday.

Russia sent an invitation to Pavlopoulos in late March, shortly after the March 25 Greek Independence Day celebration, according to the news outlet. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, currently visiting Moscow, has also been invited.

On April 4, Kremlin Chief of Staff Sergei Ivanov said representatives of at least 25 states had agreed to attend the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.

A full list of the participants in the events devoted to commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nazi Germany surrender and the end of World War II will be announced by the end of April.

Several European leaders, including European Council President Donald Tusk, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister David Cameron declined invitations to join the Victory Day events, citing Russia's alleged involvement in the Ukrainian crisis.

In February, Ivanov remarked that Russia would survive if other countries did not attend the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.

Anyone know, if Novorussian army will participate in the parade instead of Ukrainian army? That would be awesome, specially if their unit will be commanded by Strelkov. It would be interesting to see faces in Kiev...

As long as it's relevant to the parade, I don't see why not. There's already threads for all the equipment that will be there.

Unfortunately, yes one can expect the US pieces of *** and their stooges will do anything to sabotage these celebrations (think of Sochi olympics), not only timing "something" in Ukraine, but i'm fearing things like terrorist attacks in Russia during the celebrations themselves. I hope the authorities have taken draconic security measures to prevent such attacks.
