They are probably just popular in Russia, sometimes songs become popular abroad even though nobody back home listens to them

"The sound of the Balalaika on Đà River"

The song was performed in the music program "Songs of the October Revolution" to commemorate the Bolshevik Revolution and the great friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

The song's lyrics is an excerpt from a namesake Vietnamese poem made to express the gratitude of Vietnam to the great assistance of the Soviet Union in the construction of the Hoà Bình Electric Dam on the Đà River.
