I don't have any specific music genre or band that I listen, I go for individual songs that I like so my playlist contains everything from Elvis and Guns'n Roses to Britney Spears and Arcade Fire

(Although it can get jarring when next song on playlist after Natalie Imbruglia is something from Marilyn Manson )

Only specific band I was ever into was The Offspring during highschool because they had two kickass albums in a row and I was flanel-wearing slacker back then but that was the exception

But I do have some stuff from both Evanescence and Nightwish so you weren't too off the mark

This is a great song by Aerosmith called "Jaded".  This song also features Mila Kunis who was born in the Ukraine, Soviet Union.

Rock and Roll has basically disappeared from Pop Radio here in America.

Black music was fairly good in the 70s, 80s and early 90s; The emergence of hip hop really did lower the quality of their music and corrupted a few generations of American youth and poisoned their minds and musical tastes. I think R&B, Country and Rock and Roll suffered as a result of the rise of hip hop.

I have always been fond of the song "Come Back To Me" by Janet Jackson. I really like the music video as it shows really beautiful scenes of Paris; this song has such a nice melody.

But too bad Paris doesn't look like this anymore.







Another great song from this era by Mariah Carey, "Vision of Love";This song right here made me fall in love with Mariah Carey. So talented.




A big culprit in the decline of black music and music in general on the radio is the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Clinton and the Republican oligarchs in Congress are to blame for this.

In many cases they would buy up the AM spectrum as well and shut down the station. That company is called iHeartMedia, or more commonly known as Clear Channel. Clear Channel quickly grew from owning 40 radio stations in 1996, to their peak of 1225 in 300 cities by the year 2002 and dominating the audience share in 100 of 112 markets. Today there are only 82 independent radio stations left. What does this mean for our music? Almost overnight every radio station in the country no longer had connection to the local music scene where folk and rock & roll and blues were born out of. We went from over 15 genres being played on the radio, to only one. Clear Channel likes to play what sells, so you get your choice of pop music or popular music.
