    Wikileaks cable from 2008 February 1, 14:25:

Wikileaks wrote:Ukraine and Georgia's NATO aspirations not only touch a raw nerve in Russia, they engender serious concerns about the consequences for stability in the region. Not only does Russia perceive encirclement, and efforts to undermine Russia's influence in the region, but it also fears unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences which would seriously affect Russian security interests. Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face.

     Shocked Prediction came true...

more or less, Greece's Tourism Minister says Russians are responsible for the largest part of tourist income.

Greece will never ban or deny Russian acces to Greece (and basically, if Greece grants them Visa they are free to go all over the EU). and in fact would like to see more tourists from Russia....and this on CNN Razz.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE7Z7QmE-jc

when asked about sactions against russia denying them acces. she says "sanctions should target goverments and not people",

and talk about being an arrogant asshole journalist "you may have no choice". but i love how the greek minister responds with "this is not something we would ever support" and "the number of visa's have seen a rise in March" "and we are really looking forward to welcoming more visitors" when the journalist mentions Crimea.

its basically saying "we do not give a shit, we need the money and are not going to demonise the russian population".

Well Greece, like already said, is hugely pro Russian and lately is more or less about to brake free from EU and NATO. I mean she really needs nothing more than key support and some provocation, so the American leading elite established here since 1945 is pretty much in a desperate situation. They seriously need not to outrage Russians trying to gain time. They basically can do nothing more than just to buy time, Greek society is a time bomb.

If Putin goes for president in Greece he will get at least 70%
    ======================
Greece gave a 10 .. to Russia for eurovision

Left wing leader of SYRIZA , Tsipras ( according to polls the largest party at the moment) yesterday visited Moscow
He is not strongly pro Russian but thinking of it... (there are many 5th falanx inside the party at the momment like journalist Kouloglou and others .. they are Against Russia , but they are not majoriy) - Syriza puplished a document 9th May condeming and blaming EU for the Ukranian events
The communist party of Greece is pro Russian ( it was the first party that condemed EU for ukraine)
Many in the N. Democracy party are pro Russian , but a lot of them also Pro NATO
social-democrats are covered Pro NATO i.e. what is left fro PASOK - DIMAR etc
Right wing party - nationalists 'Eleftheroi Ellines" are PRO Russian
Golden Dawn, ultra nationalist (with good relations with R.S in Ukraine) .. are pro Russian also..

So .. although Greece is one of the first NATO and EU countries .. have turned Pro Russian in majority

but not thinking to break from EU and NATO
from EU due to financial reasons.. (at the moment that is .. because we may split from euro and sengen in the future)
as for NATO , there is a constand fear of the Turkish agresiveness

in the army .. there is a growing mood for pro russian sentiment (we are the only NATO country using S300 and TOR M1)
I couldn,t think that a Greek pilot will ever fly against Russia..

Finally. Now rinse and repeat:) Good luck to those rebels. Now they need to use mines on the roads and take care of those hellos. I hope they have enough ATGMs.

    Any details for this?
Hard to believe that Serbs who claim "Kosovo is Serbia" would say "Krim is Ukraine".
It's next to impossible. Pro NATO and Pro EU Serbs, yes, by all means, but this lot...IDK - I call BS on that

Tsipras blasts EU's Ukraine policy in Moscow

Tsipras has no chance to get the EC's presidency. It's going to be a battle between the Luxembourger Jean Claude Juncker (EPP) and the German Martin Schulz (PES). Prior to this mess, the Socialists were favourites to gain a relative majority in the EP but it looks like the Populars (widely hated for implementing those imbeciles "austerity measures") are recovering and gaining ground. Schulz expressed many times his option that EU to keep its civil relations with Russia and not go ahead with more sanctions, especially for economic reasons, but the Populars are hard liners about imposing more sanctions to Russia. Personally I hate the EPP's guts and I'm going to go and vote only out of spite for them. But if the US are going to support the Populars, I have a feeling that, as Stalin used to say, it doesn't matter who votes, but who counts the ballot papers.

Ukraine’s Yatsenyuk evades saying if he supports OSCE roadmap of crisis settlement
TASS wrote:BRUSSELS, May 13, 20:56 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s parliament-appointed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has provided no direct answer to the question whether he supported the roadmap on crisis settlement offered by the Swiss presidency in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In his words, the settlement plan should be “purely Ukrainian.”

“A settlement plan should allocate the leading role to Ukraine, it should be a purely Ukrainian plan,” he said on Tuesday at a joint news conference with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso. “The Ukrainian government is promoting its own roadmap. It has some things in common with the OSCE roadmap but the settlement process should be Ukrainian.”

    RIA News

    Google translate:

Now we have created an army. Those illegal formations that are still on our premises after the announcement of the official results of the referendum are the occupiers. They must leave our territory, and it can be done with the help of the army," - said Pushilin live Latvian radio Baltkom.
