Re: Russian Auto Industry
The Ministry of Economic Development unexpectedly cut the budget for the development of electric transport.
The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has reduced the cost of the concept for the development of electric transport in Russia until 2030 by 30.6%, to 590 billion rubles, of which private investments should amount to 500 billion rubles. This was stated on July 21 by the head of the Department of Economic Sectors of the Ministry of Economic Development Rustam Abulmambetov during a round table in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, writes TASS.
Recall that initially the Ministry of Economic Development presented the concept of electric transport development in May. Then the costs were estimated at 418 billion rubles. In June, the budget was inflated first to 777 billion, and then to 803.7 billion.
Due to what it was now possible to cut the planned spending by a third, it is not reported.
The plan is supposed to stimulate the production of electric vehicles in the country. The main goal is to increase the share of electric cars sales from 0.1% in 2020 to 15% in 2030.

Re: Russian Auto Industry
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will finance the testing of unmanned vehicles in 2022.
State subsidies for testing self-driving cars should be extended until the end of 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation made such a proposal. The Agency has prepared a draft of the relevant government decree, which is currently posted on the federal portal of regulatory legal acts, but has not yet been approved.
An experiment on testing self-driving cars on public roads in the Russian Federation started in December 2018. To get on the tracks, each such car must pass an expensive check for compliance with the mandatory requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union and the UN rules for the design of the car. In 2020 and 2021, these costs are compensated from the budget, the TASS news agency writes.
Each prototype must receive at least 200 safety compliance reports in 2021 and at least 100 in 2022. These are mandatory conditions for receiving subsidies from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Testing is a very expensive line in drone development projects. The amount of expenditures from the state budget on this topic is not specified, but in 2020, according to unofficial data, it amounted to about 200 million rubles.
In March 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation approved measures for testing and phased commissioning on public roads — by the end of 2021, unmanned vehicles without a test engineer in the cabin will be allowed on Russian highways. The government is also discussing a plan to provide infrastructure for highly automated road traffic to the main road network by 2030, expecting that by this time the share of such vehicles will be at least 2%.
Cars with autonomous control systems in Russia are currently being developed by KAMAZ, FSUE NAMI, GAZ Group, and Yandex.
During a stream on his personal Instagram, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government Marat Khusnullin said on July 25 that on the current M11 Neva expressway (Moscow — St. Petersburg) infrastructure can be created for the operation of unmanned trucks. In early June, Deputy chairman of the state-owned Avtodor Company Georgy Chicherin said that infrastructure for the use of" drones " can be created on the M12 Moscow — Kazan — Yekaterinburg highway under construction.

Re: Russian Auto Industry
AvtoVAZ has issued a patent for a new multimedia system for Lada Largus.
Currently, AvtoVAZ offers a new generation multimedia system Lada EnjoY Pro for Vesta, Xray and Granta models. The updated Lada Largus, which went on sale in March, is still available with an old-style 7-inch multimedia.
Now in the open database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property there is a patent for the original MMC front panel. The patent holder is AvtoVAZ JSC.
Judging by the images, the infotainment complex is designed for the Lada Largus family. Two touch screen options are patented - 7-inch and 8-inch.
The release dates of Largus with EnjoY Pro and Yandex. Auto services are still unknown.

UAZ Profi motorhome – new details.
A month ago, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant showed a motorhome created on the basis of UAZ Profi. A full-fledged camper caused increased interest among motorists. Therefore, the Russian brand decided to open the veil of secrecy over the interior design option.
Judging by the images, the layout scheme is standard: a kitchen, a dining area with a transformer sofa and a lifting bed, a bathroom with a shower, storage niches
The basic version of the UAZ Profi motorhome is equipped with a special fiberglass superstructure with developed glazing. A lift roof with an additional sleeping place will also be available for the mobile home.
The camper will most likely be offered with a 2.7-liter 150-horsepower ZMZ-Pro gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Drive — either rear or full.
The projected cost of the upcoming novelty from UAZ is 2,000,000 rubles.
Production of the UAZ Profi motorhome is planned to be launched in the "foreseeable future". The exact dates have not yet been announced.

Re: Russian Auto Industry
That is about $40K in New Zealand... it is based on what we would call a ute... short for utility truck, which on its own would probably cost $30K at least depending on the brand.
Your average motor home is very very expensive here 100K plus, so this is rather cheap... but prices go up in transit of course so there is no way they could land one of these vehicles here for that price...
Interesting though.

I agree. Electric cars are in a bubble anyway. Its hard to keep up with all of the two bit electric start-ups in the US and China. Most wont be around in 10 years

Re: Russian Auto Industry
There are reports of huge fields of electric cars in Europe whose batteries are shot that they don't know what to do with... their resale value is zero because of the cost of disposing of the battery and paying for a new one to be installed... cheaper to buy a new car.
This is a pretty critical thing that needs to be solved before they represent more than 5% of the cars in use otherwise there will be problems.

Russian cargo drones will be launched on highways in the general flow.
The experiment on unmanned cargo transportation between Moscow and St. Petersburg does not provide for the allocation of special lanes for autonomous trucks. As Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov told the Rossiya 1 channel, it will be too expensive. The experiment itself will start in 2024.
An unmanned cargo transport with autonomous control will move in the general flow. "We will launch them in the general flow, because if you make a dedicated traffic, it is very expensive" Andrey Belousov said in an interview with the TV channel.
At the same time, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, at least at the first stage of launching the operation of unmanned trucks, there will be a human operator in the cab of such a tractor. He will have to monitor the traffic situation and take control if necessary.
Autonomous trucks will not be allowed on city streets. By the beginning of the pilot operation, special hubs will be set up at the entrances to Moscow and St. Petersburg, where cargo will be collected by traditional carriers.
Earlier it was reported that the creation of an unmanned logistics corridor is designed for the period up to 2030. Connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg with autonomous cargo transportation will be only the first stage, and by the final stage, the corridor will be extended to the border with Kazakhstan, while the total number of unmanned truck fleets should reach 4 thousand units. It is assumed that drivers will be obliged to give way to such tractors.

Re: Russian Auto Industry
It became known when the Russian "vodorodomobil" (Eng: car on hydrogen fuel) will go into a series.
At the end of May, the serial production of the Senat model of the Russian brand Aurus started in Yelabuga . Then the prototype of the sedan on hydrogen fuel cells was also presented.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that a commercial hydrogen car based on the Senate can be released in 3 years. A fully electric car is also being developed.
"Our plans include the use of more powerful electric motors and combined ones, including those using hydrogen elements. By 2024, we plan to make a serial sample that will be delivered to the market" Denis Manturov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said in an interview with RBC-TV.
It is noteworthy that Aurus is currently the only one in the world (in its segment) that has a developed laboratory sample on a hydrogen carrier.

Russian electric car Zetta – launch dates announced.
Russian electric car Zetta will start mass production until the end of 2021. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov in an interview with RBC TV.
"The Zetta is the smallest electric car. Today, its tests are being completed, and we expect that by the end of the year it will already be produced" – Denis Manturov said.
The minister also added that 10% of all cars produced in Russia by 2030 will be electric.
Recall that in March of this year, during a visit to Tolyatti, Denis Manturov conducted a test drive of the Zetta City Modul-1 prototype on the territory of the Zhigulevskaya Dolina technopark.
The serial launch of the model was suspended at the end of 2020 due to lack of funding. The project required 100 million rubles to complete. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has already allocated 191 million rubles for Zetta. Another 49.5 million rubles were received from the Fund for the Development of Single-industry Towns. Initially, the investment budget of the Togliatti electric car startup was 570 million rubles.
The body of the compact two-door electric car is made of a metal frame with hinged panels made of fiberglass. The interior of the City Modul-1 features a front panel with a touchscreen and wireless charging for a smartphone.
The model is equipped with an electric motor and a Chinese lithium-ion battery. The maximum speed is 120 km/h.
Three versions of City Modul-1 have been developed:
Front-wheel drive with a power reserve of 180 km (starting from 550 thousand rubles)
Front-wheel drive with increased battery capacity and a power reserve of 500 km (from 750 thousand rubles)
All-wheel drive with a power reserve of about 500 km (from 950 thousand rubles).

Personally for me the main reason to buy electric car would be to skip the need to deal with asshole swindler mechanics
Tyres, suspension, battery, nothing else in there and mechanics can suck it

Maybe something you can plug a lap top or tablet into and fix yourself by replacing faulty modular parts you can order on line....

Re: Russian Auto Industry
On the Russian electric cars want to provide a discount of up to 625 thousand rubles.
The federal government discussed the conditions for granting discounts on electric vehicles assembled in the Russian Federation: the maximum amount for buyers will be 25% (up to 625 thousand rubles for the estimated cost of a car of 2.5 million). This was agreed by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov together with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov, according to the website of the Ministryof Economic Development .
The discount is going to be provided for electric vehicles localized in Russia.
