Post says - in 2007 armed forces received s-400 ,capable of solving not only tactical but operational missions of aero-cosmos forces. system uses missiles of different types capable of destroying not only cruise missiles and aircraft but also warheads of operational tactical ballistic missiles , hypersonic flying objects ,and satellites in low orbits.

its a multi datalink coded missile, its a new fashion option , which enables to work over the horizon.
s-400 works in group so when it launches missile at very far range it sends commands via datalink to missile to activate directional beacon , but also sends code to that SAM system which is in front of it on battlefield - s-300 , buk , so they can take over with that code and continue to datalink that same missile as it flyes over them ,then missile closes to target so it active radar can get lock and hit it , thats how it gets over horizon,and bypass directional jamming.

The S-300PT anti-aircraft missile system was adopted in 1978. The system consisted of a command post (КП) with radar detecting air targets and up to 6 anti-aircraft missile systems (ЗРК). Stages of modernization:
in 1982 - S-300PS
in 1989 - S-300PM

Putin calls to prepare S-500 missile system for mass production
The Russian leader also called for rearming 14 regiments with Yars ballistic missile systems
SOCHI, May 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday further efforts are needed to improve anti-precision warfare tools and called to prepare S-500 missile systems for mass production.
"One of the key tasks is to improve anti-precision warfare means. It is necessary to develop and build up technological groundwork in the area of air defense, to continue modernization of Pantsir systems, to finish the development and preparations for mass production of the S-500 newest systems capable of hitting targets at super-high altitudes, including near-the-earth space," he said at a meeting with Russia’s top brass and executives of defense-sector enterprises.
Putin also called for continuing modernization of the strategic nuclear forces and rearming 14 regiments with Yars intercontinental ballistic missile systems before the end of December.
"Strategic nuclear forces have key significance for defense and security," he said. "Pursuant to provisions of the state program for armaments, we'll continue replacement of the outdated Topol missile complexes with the newest Yars systems and will put them on the tables of equipment at fourteen missile regiments."

One of those will cost like 10 cruise missiles ... not really good for a drone that os meant to be used in very big numbers.
They forgot also that very long range missiles are becoming traditional weapons against those transpart plane like r-37, meteor, ks-172, chinese long range missiles ... with awacs suppot they have 0 chance.

They mention 300 miles which should be even more than stated range of S-400. But it is CNBC and afterwards they make insinuations regarding the MH17... very serious yes

Well, to be honest not that much... the missile containers could be a little thicker, but given this is a 2014 render of the S-400 I doubt it has much value regarding the S-500 at all, don't you think?
