They still don't have the small brahmos ready that is supposed to have the same caracteristics as the big brahmos. I wouldn't expect a miniaturized Zirkon soon.

They can always make a new better kh-35M with more range and better stealth. They could add another meter of lenght filled with fuel because angled launchers are not limited in lenght and they woukd reach 400km range pretty easily.

They could go another way too.... Kh-31 uses a ramjet engine to fly at about mach 3... an upgraded version with scramjet propulsion and improved fuel and you could probably easily double or triple that speed and perhaps double the range too without needing to make it much bigger.

The change from propeller led to the choice of speed over range because although jet engines offered increased speeds they were not very efficient to start with, but the transition from ramjet to scramjet is actually different... once the supersonic combustion of fuel is mastered a scramjet is a much more efficient and effective engine than a ramjet while maintaining its simplicity.

When using airflow for thrust the limitation of the ramjet is that to operate and burn the fuel to create thrust the airflow needs to be subsonic so at high speeds you need to reduce airflow into the engine so the fuel can burn and create thrust. With a scramjet no need to restrict inflow of air so it is easier to fly much much faster... in fact the compression in the hot section with mach 6 plus air going in to it combustion section where fuel is added might lead to spontaneous combustion anyway due to the heat and presence of O2 and fuel...

A mix of Kh-35s and Kh-31s would be rather interesting... for light vessels... and even secondary armament for bigger vessels too.

Some more pics, closeups confirm the radars aren't actually mounted, just temp covers over the holes so its going to have a bunch of time pier-side completing.

Thats the difference of Poroject 20385 with 20380. It will have UKSK instead of Kh-35 launchers

Is that ship "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov"? If so it is a 20380 and should have uran launchers, not UKSK... the only VLS should be 12 result VLS cells

The Uran launchers are concealed behind bulkheads.  You need a well elevated line of sight to see them clearly.  Like in this great view of the (very dirty) Gromkiy taken while still fitting out:

Here's another (of the Aldar Tsydenzhapov itself). You can see the Uran bays as usual (but missile packs are yet to be fitted).

Wrong. It's 20381, not 20385. 20385 is Gremyashchiy class. 20381 is improved Steregushchiy.

    There is no 20381 designation.
    These are 20380 improved.

That mast isn't quite as sleek as it may have at first seemed, a bit excessively vertical, compare with 20385

Ppl at Balancer suggest the difference is 20385 had redesigned internal structure to support the wider mast vs this is re-using the original 20380 structure, seems a reasonable explanation.

Russia’s top brass places order with Amur Shipyard for Project 20380 missile corvettes

The signing ceremony took place at the Army-2020 international military and technical forum

KUBINKA /Moscow Region/, August 25. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry signed a contract with the Amur Shipyard on building Project 20380 corvettes, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko announced on Tuesday.

The signing ceremony took place at the Army-2020 international military and technical forum.

In August, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the Amur Shipyard.

Project 20380 ships developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau are designed to accomplish green-water escort and strike missions and patrol coastal waters. They are armed with universal artillery guns, surface-to-air missile/artillery systems, supersonic missiles and automatic artillery launchers. The Project 20380 corvettes can carry a Ka-27 helicopter.

Maybe there is a mach 2 missile that uses the same launchers as Urans...

Or they are planning to build 20385

I still contend the news a while back about a smaller version of Zirkon was talking about a Uran replacement.

Hopefully this build announcement is first of several -> a decent squadron for each fleet.
