How did the Iranian regiment(s) get to Latakia without getting spotted by US sats or Israeli intelligence. This is yet one more grand master move in a simultaneous chess play.

They've taken Sukayk in completely spectacular fashion. FSA (Formerly Seen Alive) concentrating on the defense of Kafr Nabouda has created holes and the SAA has gone through. The other big plus has been the long range artillery. It keeps pushing back the takfiris. One bad point though, losses have been nasty.

Iran sent a division IRGC (Revolutionary Guards). Information received on Tuesday. A source at the newspaper said that troops IRGC join the Syrian army and the forces of Hezbollah to implement the first phase of the operation, aimed at establishing control over the territories in the north-west of Syria.

The newspaper notes that Iranian assistance demonstrates the role played by Tehran in providing direct assistance to the Syrian army in the conduct of ground operations.

"The ground operation will begin with the implementation of control over the entire province of Hama and wooded area in the province of Idlib and the countryside in the province of Latakia (north-east of the province).

(second phase) Will continue to be implemented control of the territory north of Homs, until the transition to the third phase, designed to reach the Turkish-Syrian border, where the scheduled meeting and interaction with the "Kurdish troops" in some areas in the north.

Part way thro he interviews a SAA colonel, Taisir Sliman, who says that while the terrorists have long prepared a defence and are putting up fierce resistance, we have long prepared for an attack and are acting decisively and success will be ours.
