Russia has adopted documents on promoting electric vehicles. 

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a concept and schedule for the development of production and use of electric vehicles in the country. The documents were developed jointly by the Federal Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development, and they are designed for the period up to 2030.

With the help of the Concept, the key directions of state policy in the field of development of production and use of electric and hydrogen vehicles will be determined.

Key targets for this document:

• launch of production of cells for traction batteries;
  
• launch of production of cathode and anode materials;
  
• commissioning of at least 72,000 charging stations, of which at least 28,000 are fast charging stations;
  
• commissioning of at least 1000 hydrogen filling stations;
  
• creation of at least 39,000 additional high-performance jobs along the entire technological chain of production of electrochemistry, electromechanics, electronics and production of electric vehicles.
  

Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, comments: "The document sets a wide range of tasks for a number of ministries and departments. These include developing the production base; increasing the technological competencies of national manufacturers of both key components and electric vehicles themselves; introducing products with fundamentally new properties in the field of electric propulsion to the market, and stimulating demand for them. The concept also involves the creation of the necessary infrastructure for electric and hydrogen cars, the removal of regulatory barriers to the use of electric transport."

Comments by Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation: "It is important for businesses to create groundwork for promising technologies in the field of electric transport and hydrogen fuel cell transport. We need to remain competitive and maintain a large automotive industry cluster."

The power reserve of the hydrogen Aurus Senat at one refueling is named. 

The latest version of the premium fuel-cell sedan Aurus Senat was demonstrated at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. According to RIA Novosti, the description of the car indicates a power reserve of 600 kilometers. This is the first officially named technical characteristic of the future novelty. Such a sedan may enter the market in 2024.

By the end of the decade, up to a thousand hydrogen gas stations may appear on the territory of Russia. This is provided for by the strategy for the development of electric transport adopted by the Russian government. By that time, it is planned to create up to 72 thousand "refueling stations" for traditional electric vehicles.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocates more than 1 billion rubles for the development of the production of the KAMAZ plant. 

The Government of the Russian Federation has allocated more than 1 billion rubles for the modernization of production and updating the model range of trucks of the KAMAZ plant. As the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on Thursday, such an order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The decision was made following the results of the Prime minister's working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, which took place on June 3. During the business trip, Mishustin visited KAMAZ, the plant director told him that in the near future the company plans to increase the production of cars, increase the output of engines, axles and wheel reducers, increase the localization level of cabs for trucks.

After returning to Moscow, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance to provide additional funding for the implementation of plans for the development of KAMAZ, as well as to take into account additional funds when preparing the next draft budget.

"The allocated funding, in particular, will help the plant to recover costs within the framework of investment projects and put into operation a new line of profiling of spars - the main power elements of vehicles" – the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation noted.

The head of Rostec: Lada models are not inferior to Ford and Kia in any way. 

The products of the Russian Lada brand are superior in quality to Ford models, as well as Korean and Chinese cars. This was stated by the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, at an open lesson for schoolchildren as part of the educational marathon "New Knowledge".

"There were so many jokes about our Lada. I assure you, today the Lada car is in no way inferior in quality to either Ford or Korean cars, for example, Kia, well, especially Chinese ones. They (Lada cars) is much better" – Chemezov said.

The head of Rostec noted that today Lada cars are the best-selling in Russia.

Earlier, the president of AVTOVAZ, Nicolas Maure, said that within five years the Lada brand will enter a higher price segment. The brand's line will include models with a price level of 1-1.2 million rubles with good consumer characteristics. At the same time, the Volga Automobile Plant will continue to produce affordable products.

Lada plans to release five new cars by 2026. The head of AVTOVAZ has already announced the family of the B segment and the successor of the legendary Niva. Also, this list should include an upgraded Vesta and a C-class crossover.

Luxury Aurus Komendant SUV: new premiere dates. 

Initially, the Aurus Komendant SUV was planned to be shown in 2020 at the Moscow Motor Show. But the presentation was postponed to the fall of 2021. Now the model has received a new debut date.

Aurus Komendant will be presented next spring. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. The head of the department made this statement at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

The premiere of Komendant will take place on the eve of the launch of serial production. Earlier it was reported that the mass production of the model can start in the second half of 2022.

The plant in Izhevsk is preparing to release a new Lada Vesta. Deadlines are confirmed. 

AvtoVAZ told about the modernization of the production facilities of the plant in Izhevsk, where the production of Lada Vesta is carried out. The company's pipeline is being prepared for the release of an updated model family and, possibly, for other promising projects.

During a single corporate vacation, five outdated robots and related equipment were dismantled at the particularly large stamping line, and ABB machines were installed instead. The updated line is currently being tested.

The pilot production is scheduled to start at the end of September 2021.

Sobol NN is officially presented at the Comtrans exhibition.

Rumors that a medium-sized low-tonnage vehicle will appear in the new range of GAZ NN series cars have been going around for a long time — and readers were constantly wondering when such a car would be released. And at the capital's Comtrans exhibition, the new Sobol NN was finally presented in pre-production form — we got acquainted with this car and learned some details.

So, the new Sobol looks like a small GAZelle. Actually, it is maximally unified with it. The front has the same independent suspension, and the main difference is in the rear axle. Here it is also on springs, but the wheels are single — pitched.

There will be a cargo van, a minibus and a cargo and passenger car in the Sobol range — last veriant is exactly what was presented at the stand. All variants will have the same length (5.12 m), but three variations are possible in height — with a low, medium and high roof design.

Accordingly, the cargo versions will have an internal body volume of 6.9, 7.7 and as much as 9.2 cubic meters. There will also be options with a side body. The maximum gross weight will be 3.5 tons, but 2.5-ton versions will also be available.

The cab of the new Sobol still has the same fashionable NN-panel. Along with it, the mid-sized van got all the "buns": a large multimedia system screen, a new instrument panel with a color display, an electronic handbrake and starting the engine with a button. By the way, under the hood of this car there is a familiar Cummins ISF diesel engine, but in the future there will be an alternative in the form of a Volkswagen two-liter unit and an Evotech gasoline engine. The transmission is a six — speed manual. "Automatic", alas, is not yet in the plans.

On the second row of the presented car there is a sofa for three passengers. Among the amenities are tables in the backs of the front seats and a ceiling light. Interestingly, this sofa can be moved along the runners on the floor, freeing up space for legs or for cargo: there is no rigid partition at the back, its role is played by a screen-grid.

The timing of the appearance of the new Sobol is still vaguely called 2022. By the way, the four-wheel drive versions will also see the light, but later. There are also no specific prices for the new product yet, but it can be assumed that they will be slightly less than the cost of full-size large GAZelles NN.

About a year ago, GAZ introduced a new Valdai with a cabin from the Chinese Foton. And now KAMAZ has also introduced its medium-duty truck, the new Compass also received a Chinese cab, only from a JAC truck. We got acquainted with this new product at the Comtrans exhibition, and also learned how Valdai is doing after almost a year of sales.

It's funny, but small external changes in the KAMAZ style with a large grille and blocks of round lighting equipment have transformed the usual JAC, it looks if not modern, then at least not so Chinese. What can not be said about the cabin decoration: the country of origin is clearly felt in the quality of materials and the fit of interior elements, and the great age of the JAC N-series model itself is felt in its design.

The frame, bridges and main units here, by the way, are also Chinese. The Cummins ISF engine with a volume of 3.8 liters and a capacity of 154 hp is a diesel familiar to many of our service masters. The transmission is a six-speed, Fast Gear brand.

The total weight of the presented machine, which is called Compass 9, with an isothermal booth and a refrigerator unit is 9.5 tons with a load capacity of 3.3 tons. Such Compasses will be the first to go on sale before the end of this year. A little later, there will be a Compass 12 with a gross weight of 11.99 tons, "kids" –a five-ton truck and even a 3.5-ton car that can be driven with a category "B" in the rights.

At first, while the model is probing the market, all the components for it will come from China and be assembled at the main plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. Later, localization is also planned — up to full.

Prices are still known only for the Compass 9. An on-board truck with a minimum of options will cost a little less than three million rubles, but the device presented at the exhibition with an insulated booth and a refrigerator costs more than five million.

Well, what about Valdai? According to GAZ representatives, sales are going on, but not as actively as originally planned. Many are still afraid of a car with a modern, but still Chinese cabin — they have to explain that the chassis is all ours here…

At the exhibition, the Valdai stood with new superstructures for themselves. The first is a flatbed truck with a Palfinger crane installation. It has a maximum boom reach of 7.5 meters and a load capacity of up to 3.2 tons. The cost of this version has not yet been finally approved.

The second car is a tow truck. A platform of 8.2 meters is installed on the chassis, and vehicles weighing up to 2.35 tons can be driven here. At the same time, the winch is designed for a force of 4.1 tons. If they are now asking for about 2.6 million for an ordinary Valdai, then such a car will cost about 800 thousand more.

As for the prospects, it is planned to release a heavier version of the Valdai with a total weight of 7.5 tons in the future — this will increase the load capacity by almost 800 kg. Such a truck will be delivered with a Cummins engine of increased power, the chassis will also be slightly modified. It is worth waiting for this version next year.

GAZ Group presents three models of gearboxes at the International Commercial Transport Exhibition Comtrans 2021: an automatic transmission for buses and medium-duty trucks, a 6-speed manual transmission for medium-duty trucks (a pre-production sample) and a 6-speed transmission for light commercial vehicles. The use of new units allows you to increase the comfort of passengers during the trip, reduce noise and vibration, as well as reduce fuel consumption.

Automatic transmission GAZ is designed for installation on medium-class buses, such as Citymax 9, Vector Next, LiAZ-4292, as well as on medium-duty trucks "GAZon Next" and "Sadko Next". Automatic transmission is especially in demand in the line of city buses that move in heavy traffic, in traffic jams and constantly work in the "acceleration – stop" mode. Due to the smooth starting and shifting of gears, the "automatic" makes the trip more comfortable for passengers. The use of automatic transmission increases traffic safety, allowing the driver to concentrate on changing road conditions.

The automatic transmission is designed to transmit torque up to 800 N*m. It is possible to install a power take-off box.

At the exhibition, the automatic transmission system is presented as part of two cars: a Citymax 9 medium-class bus and an Sadko Next off-road truck. When driving off-road, the automatic transmission provides a continuous transmission of torque, which allows the car to confidently overcome difficult obstacles.

To organize the production of an automatic transmission at the Nizhny Novgorod Motors plant, which is part of the perimeter of the GAZ Group, a new production site was built. It includes new washing, measuring and assembly equipment, as well as rolling stands, where the assembled units are tested under load.

6-speed manual transmission for medium-duty vehicles (6 MKP LDT) GAZ is intended for use on GAZon Next trucks with a gross weight of 8.7 and 10 tons. The use of a step-up, sixth gear, allows you to reduce fuel consumption at speeds of more than 60 km/h, as well as significantly reduce the noise level and vibration load of the car. 

The box provides the transmission of torque up to 664 N*m. It is possible to install a power take-off box. The intermediate plate, in which the additional bearings of the intermediate and secondary shaft support are located, provides additional reliability of the gearbox.

The stand presents pre-production samples of gearboxes, the production of which will begin in 2022.

6-speed manual transmission for light commercial vehicles (6 MKP LCV) GAZ is installed on cars of the GAZelles NN family, as well as on Valdai Next trucks. In the future, this box will also be used on the models "Sobol NN" and "Valdai City".

The increased center distance compared to the 5-speed manual transmission and the use of increased gears made it possible to increase the torque, reliability and service life of the unit. The box provides the transmission of torque up to 450 N*m and also has the ability to connect a power take-off box.
