Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (15 August 2023)

Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have launched a concentrated strike with long-range air- and sea-based precision weapons against key enterprises of the Kiev regime's military industry.

The goal of the attack has been reached. All the assigned targets have been neutralised. Ukraine's military-industrial complex has suffered significant damage.

In Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian grouping of troops, repelled 3 attacks by assault units of the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU Strategic Reserve near Rabotino (Zaporozhye).

The enemy losses were up to 200 servicemen, 5 tanks, 6 IFVs, 2 AFVs, 2 motor vehicles, and 2 Msta-B howitzers.

In Kupyansk direction, as a result of actions by the Zapad Group of Forces, 6 attacks by assault groups of 14th, 32nd mechanised and 95th airborne assault brigades of the AFU have been repelled close to Novosyolovskoye LPR, Olshana and Sinkovka (Kharkov).

The enemy losses were up to 100 servicemen, 2 AFVs, 3 pickup trucks, 1 M777 artillery system, 1 Krab and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, 2 Zuzana-2 self-propelled howitzers on a wheeled chassis, 1 D-20 gun, 1 AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forces have successfully repelled 11 attacks by AFU units close to Belogorovka, Razdolovka, Krasnogorovka and Nevelskoye DPR.

The enemy losses were up to 230 servicemen, 2 IFVs, 2 pickup trucks, 6 motor vehicles, 1 M109 Paladin and 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems, as well as D-20 howitzer.

In Krasny Liman direction, as a result of actions by units of the Tsentr Group of Forces, 3 attacks by assault groups of the 68th Infantry Brigade and the 42nd Mechanised Brigade of the AFU have been repelled close to Novoyegorovka and Kuzmino LPR and Vesyoloye DPR.

The enemy losses were up to 80 servicemen, 3 AFVs, 2 pickup trucks, and 1 D-30 howitzer.

In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces inflicted 1 comprehensive fire attack on the enemy near Priyutnoye (Zaporozhye).

The actions of 1 sabotage and reconnaissance group of the 31st Mechanised Brigade of the AFU have been suppressed.

The enemy losses were up to 200 servicemen, 4 AFVs, 3 motor vehicles, 1 Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system, 1 Msta-B howitzer, and 1 AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar station.

In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 35 servicemen, 3 motor vehicles, 1 M777 artillery system, 1 Krab self-propelled artillery system, as well as 1 D-20 howitzer.

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised manpower and military hardware in 172 areas.

1 command post of electronic warfare and air defence facilities of the AFU has been hit near Kramatorsk DPR.

1 ammunition depot of the 43rd Artillery Brigade of the AFU has been destroyed close to Omelnik (Zaporozhye).

Air defence facilities have intercepted 4 SCALP-EG long-range cruise missiles and 2 Uragan multiple-launch rocket system projectiles.

25 UAVs have been hit close to Lisichansk, Svatovo LPR, Volnovakha, Gorlovka, Makeevka DPR and Tokmak (Zaporozhye).

The chief of staff for NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has angered Kyiv officials for suggesting Ukraine could become a member of NATO if it ceded some of its territory to Russia

Stian Jenssen, who has held the title of director of the Private Office of the NATO Secretary General since 2017, reportedly made the suggestion while speaking on a recent panel in the Norwegian city of Arendal.

The Norwegian newspaper VG on Tuesday reported that while discussing Ukraine's ambitions of joining NATO to the Arendal panel, Jenssen said: "I think that a solution could be for Ukraine to give up territory and get NATO membership in return."

The paper noted that Jenssen emphasized that "it must be up to Ukraine to decide when and on what terms they want to negotiate." When a VG reporter asked the NATO adviser whether it was the alliance's view that Ukraine must give up land in order to join, Jenssen seemingly suggested others have discussed plans for Ukraine following the war.

This is basically the tacit disowning of Ukraine by NATO

You will now see end of support for transfers to Ukraine

The counteroffensives failure, has ended with this demand by NATO - and it really highlights how deeply in trouble the west is

The fact they are openly discussing this, means one thing: they are preparing to cut their losses,

But why?

Why would NATO risk such a loss of credibility? Despite narrative shaping, the world will not see it as a Ukrainian failure alone, although the burden will lie majorly with Ukrainian people and their leaders

The world will look to NATO and the west as initiators of a conflict they could not finish- as with Afghanistan

And if the west is willing to risk this kind of blowback over Afghanistan, Ukraine, Niger, it becomes clear they are unable to manage global processes any longer

They are more and more receding into survival mode as their economies take widespread damage

They will cede colonies, hegemonic projects, and financial interests abroad, to salvage the power they still wield at home

BRICS summit is coming soon, and we will see major changes there

But it's clear that the war in Ukraine, is much more than an isolated conflict over hegemony in Ukraine

This is spurring on a global change which we can see even the west is reacting to
