How many tanks has russia lost in the ukraine

Including LDNR tank units. Im excluding IFVs.

Hard to know. Only evidences come from ukrainian sources who were already proved to re-use destroyed tanks to film them as being destroyed again.

Then they use also the same t-72 as Russia and it is really hard to know if those filmed tanks are russian or not. Painting a Z on the side is fast and easy.

A few hundred wouldn't be surprising. Many were abondonned because they run out of fuel or hit a mine. Some were destroyed by ATGMs too.

Im counting the ones abandoned. Do you think oryx is reliable when it comes to documenting captured vehicles, since they're intact? he claims astronomical numbers, like 150 T-80BVMs and 300+ T-72B3s captured. Truthfully we only see up to a dozen captured russian tanks in ukrainian service(some already destroyed), but that doesnt disprove oryx, since most of the captured tanks couldve just been unusable or sent to the west for research. I don't know who to believe regarding numbers of captured vehicles.

Interestingly, there is 0 footage of russian soldiering recapturing captured russian tanks.

I don't follow him. He just take picture and videos shared by ukrainians which can be faked easily. Most if the time a same tank is shared 2,3 or 4 times in different pictures abd all the destroyed tanks are russians with no evidences. Oryx is a biased source.

I remember 4 tunguskas parked in a forest at the begining of the war. They said they were russians but no one would leave 4 tunguska parjed side by side during a war.

Lot of tanks are just ukrainians that were dispersed before the start of the invasion accross the frobt so they they don't get destroyed in their bases.

I think it's not more than 500. To be honest even 500 tanks is very generous assumption.

Let´s take a page from NATOs playbook: Russia didn´t loose a single tank due to enemy action. All losses had to do with technical malfuntions and driver errors.

No, NATO tanks are always claimed to be destroyed by IEDs, or that they were scuttled.
