Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
It seems US and western navy can't take down any Houthi ASBM there .

Yemen's Houthis successfully tested a hypersonic missile to attack US Coalition ships
A military source close to the movement told RIAN about this.
According to him, Yemen intends to begin manufacturing such missiles for attacks in the Red, Arabian Seas and the Gulf of Aden, as well as against targets in Israel.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
I wonder if the "hypersonic missile" does not stand for S-75 modified to be used as anti ship missiles.
They have already done that and used in surface to surface mode multiple times.
And it's sea based version was able to hit ships, in the radar horizon distance.
And S-125 as well.
If a bunch of folks wearing flip flops would have managed to get and use real hypersonic missiles against Murican - this would have been just hilarious

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
The lowest-end Yemeni "hypersonic missile", could be the Kheybar-Shekan with a reduced payload to reach at least 1650km
With several skip-trajectory maneuvers, KS remains in the hypersonic regime for a good portion of its terminal phase & remains maneuverable

The leader of AnsarAllah, Abdel al-Malik al-Houthi:
"We’ll not only prevent Israeli ships from sailing in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, but also in the Indian Ocean and South Africa, towards the Cape of Good Hope. This is an important and significant step, and we have already begun operations related to this."

BREAKING
The leader of the Ansarullah movement has announced that they will now target ships with Israeli connections crossing the Indian Ocean towards South Africa
This will probably happen after Ramadan
The US needs to send more ships to West Asia if it wants to protect such a large area.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
This thing is a clearly Iranian Khyber Shekhan missile.
So if the range reaches 1500 + km, that would mean the warhead speed in a range of 4km/s.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
Killing innocent civilians ( we are only the authorized to do that No ).
And if they were running drugs into the US they would not be called innocent civilians, they would be called drug couriers.
In this case these are ships violating the waters the Houthies legitimately patrol delivering support and likely weapons and ammo to a country committing war crimes.
The real example of not judging a book by its cover
To be fair standing on a stage is supposed to elevate you up so you can be seen properly. The size of the stand he is behind probably justifies more "stand".
Houthis have told China and Russia their ships can sail through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden without being attacked,
They wont be delivering material to support a terrorist state so that is consistent.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #3
Maybe on their way to Tartous, but an 'interesting' new factor in the Red Sea for now.
Bloomberg: The Russian fleet has entered the Red Sea, crowded with warships. The detachment included the missile cruiser "Varyag" and the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov".
Also
The first Russian warship has arrived at the Eritrean port of Massawa
As Russian Ambassador to Eritrea Igor Mozgo said, the ship will remain in the country until April 5. Joint exercises are expected to be held between sailors of the two states and experience will be exchanged.
Intensified contacts between Russia and Eritrea began last year. Thus, in January 2023, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited Eritrea for the first time, and in May, Eritrea's president Isaias Afwerke arrived in Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin
- IlRusso reports
