Iraq turns its eye on Russian weapons

MiG-27K were produced well before the mid 80s- they were some of the earliest MiG-27s accepted into the VVS (and the most advanced, they went for cheaper ones after).

drones have been purchased, semi confirmed.
We don't need heavy airpower but drones, the heavy aircraft will kill civillians and anger them, the ground forces simply have to perform better ( aim not spray ) together with better command which will be overlooked by the USSF coming to Iraq.

Yes, but that's why the only things that fire in cities should be helicopters, hellfire missiles/Ataka. The fighter jets bombardment can be done on ISIS in the desert, they often spot huge convoys of ISIS in the desert, there the Sukhoi can unleash hell.

Looks like mercenary probably Russian pilots will fly those jets as theres no way Iraq can get pilots ready in a short period of time.
