Done with MP.Photos.net

Just joined that site not to long ago and I'm already done with it. Put 1 post up on the Russian photos thread titled Navy special forces. Almost immediately it gets criticized for the fact that it was in fact VDV and not Navy special forces. Google translate says Navy special forces, that's what I'm gonna put up. How are those two even related? Stupid google translate Then I go to post and apologize for the error and explain my reasoning, and of course, now the site is glitching and won't let me type my posts, and it doesn't look like it's gonna fix itself any time soon. Honestly? I don't even know why I decided to post in the first place, all mp.net ever is a bunch of hate messages and flame wars, which is why I was so reluctant to post. Not that I got flamed or anything, but jeez nobody wants to look like a fool. *Rage mode off*

Instead of appreciating your post and suggesting it might have been mislabeled but thanks for posting anyway... well you know what happened.

I would say that there are plenty of photos and videos that are mislabeled on the internet and the fact that it was labeled VDV means nothing... unless the person posting the video was the person who took the video.

I have seen plenty of photos of average Russian soldiers labeled spetsnaz because of this or that reason.

I read the Russian photos thread, and there is a tangent discussion thread related to it that I read occasionally, but the rest is not worth reading really, and certainly not worth bothering to post about.

Though I must say I was amused at a recent thread there about disrespecting the office of US president and cheap shots in terms of name calling with Obama and Dubya. Of course even those that supported the call to members being more respectful were oblivious to the double standard... can't call the US president names, but the leaders of North Korea, Iran, Syria, Libya, and even Russia are all fair game...

In fact I think my last infraction there was berating the western system of democracy as not being so perfect after another member complained that Russian democracy was nonexistent.

I got a two week holiday for pretty much saying people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, and that was when I realised that I am the bad guy on that forum and any attempt to go against the media and education system and general ignorance of anything to do with Russia is a complete waste of my time, so I didn't bother sharing my views and opinions there. I do admit one time I was moved to post because on one thread I read was a comment that was so obviously ignorant I felt I had to say something, but I found the system wouldn't let me post anyway, so I didn't bother.

I got banned from the Keypublishing forum because I took exception to a regular troll posting a thread about "Russian Airlines" where he posted some interior photos of aircraft with tape holding things together, and posted a western airline aircraft that actually had tape on the outside on a wing.

Apparently I lacked a sense of humour.

The irony is that just after I stopped going there the local bookshop that I bought Air International and Air Forces Monthly closed, so I haven't been buying their product either... the only time I see it now is when Austin posts an article. Has saved me a small fortune as each mag was getting up to about $20 per issue and its coverage of Russian stuff was pretty limited.
