Regarding AL-31FM1 engine I find, that in 2007 it was tested in Su-27LL plane with TVC and that AL-31FM1 is in serial production from 2007 for Su-34 and Su-27SM. Interesting is, that this engine was not exported, Russia all export Su-30MKK/MK2 equip with AL-31F or Su-30MKI/MKM woth AL-31FP and they have 123 kN of trust with afterburner. Al-31FM1 have 135 kN of trust and longer life time. I really doubt, that new build Su-30SM use old AL-31F engine from standard Su-27 with TVC instead of more powerful AL-31FM1 with TVC, which was also tested. Maybe they just use old designation.
Interesting is, that export Bars-M radar work at peak power of 4 to 5 kW, while Chelnok EGSP-6A transmitter in Bars-M radar could work with 7 kW peak power. Standard N001 radar have 4 kW peak power, so radar in Su-30MKI/MKM is limited with power from old Al-31FP engines. Su-30SM could use Bars-R radar with full 7 kW peak power simply with AL-31FM1 engines with TVC. Simply with more powerful engines Su-30SM is more capable than export Su-30MKI/MKM in trust to weight ratio and in radar capabilities.
