It'll have 3 screws, just in case 1-2 fail, as happened in the Caribbean:

Well... nuclear powered, 75K tons, EMALS cat system, and CTOL fighters... that sounds familiar... and sensible...
Except for Russia their Su-57 aircraft would have better range and stealth than a Rafale...

Re: French Navy: News
If only 1 is built, from the deployment perspective it won't be much better than the UK having 2 CVs. Therefore, they may keep C. de G. longer, if not selling it to Brazil or India.

I would guess it would depend on the condition of CdG, but building two carriers... staggered to spread out the cost and the work for the shipyards involved would be the best idea with a sale of the CdG to offset some of the cost of the new second carrier.

Re: French Navy: News
Just looking at the carrier design again... I find it interesting they have gone for a single island tower design.
At the moment the British carriers have two islands with two towers where the two separate roles of the tower or island are separated out with the rear tower dedicated to air operations and managing landing and taking off of all aircraft on the deck, while the front tower is dedicated to managing navigating and sailing the ship around the place.
The new French design seems to have recombined the two towers back to one and a very small and compact one at that...
Interesting.

Two towers take away the space on te flight deck and you need no 2nd tower since most technology needs no visual contact, you can implement those in the hull of the vessel.

France intends to significantly update the underwater component of the Republic's naval forces. Defense Minister Florence Parley said in an interview with Le Figaro that the development of new third-generation nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs) has begun.

Re: French Navy: News
Tests of the layout of a promising French nuclear aircraft carrier developed by the French nuclear industrial corporation Framatome in Le Creusot under the Porte Avion Nouvelle Generation (PANG) program. Tests of the mock-up on the water make it possible to refine the mathematical calculations and correct the shape of the ship's hull, which will improve its seaworthiness. It will also allow modeling the propellers of the future aircraft carrier.

Future frigates for the french navy won't be fitted with EW systems neither cruise missiles even if there is space for A70 vls because of lack of money.
They will have to wait their modernization.

Times are tough...
BTW those model planes on those carrier mockups... it looks like that Tempest 5th gen fighter... it clearly isn't the F-35 because it clearly has two engines... is there any chance of France joining the Tempest programme or are they going to have a parallel programme to produce something similar like the Rafale/Typhoon situation...

Imagine a French version... sad that such a thing would be impossible because the emperors of France live in Washington and have holiday houses in Brussels and Berlin...

Older designs were much better than new stealthy fency ones.
Nothing beats a Slava design.
