Russia is not using its forces at 100%. Putin clearly ordered to not endanger civilians. They are also no using aol their forces. A lot of reinforcement since this morning is going in ukraine.

In 1 day of fighting they destroy all the strategic objectives and the Ukrainian army is divided on the fronts.

If they start using Jamming and the air force that would increase the ukrainian loses but the public would be chocked too much.

The strategy is to gain terrain and push back ukrainian it seems until Zelinsky surrender. If he doesn't they will gradually increase the airstrikes.

I keep hearing that Zelenskyy is ready to talk and make concessions, and that Putin isn't playing ball. Plus recent reports that he's made an appeal directly to the Ukrainian military.

It isn't miscalculation, it's a very dirty well thought out strategy, where in the eventuality of Kiev falling they'll try to negotiate asylum with Russia elsewhere (least Russia be seen by the west as "animals" killing democratically elected heads of state - and Putin will of course will get flooded with mediation calls from the usual suspects to get their assets released.). These folks are betting big time, just like they did in 2014... back then they won. It can't happen this time.
