It looks like shit. They would have been better off building the M8 AGS than this Frankenstein of a vehicle.

In all fairness, this is not a bad decision as the SMO has proven. Tank on Tank battles are rare as Artillery will nullify any armor advantage anyways and quite often BMPs and lighter vehicles have been in use far more than any heavy armor for assaults on outskirts of towns/cities and for fire support of trench wars. I would also imagine that they will be exported to the now "depleted" storages of PONOS countries. Leopards "proving" market-wise to be "bad" which was most probably the plan of the US anyway, thus will make them more money due to enforced contracts.

M 10 has far better firepower and EW systems than Sprut. Can also be fitted with an APS like Trophy.

To survive Javelin ATGM, Sprut will soon be rolled out with ERA tiles on top just like the T-72

M 10 has far better firepower and EW systems than Sprut. Can also be fitted with an APS like Trophy.

It has a 105mm British rifled gun... pathetic against other front line tanks.

The Sprut has a full calibre full power 125mm smoothbore able to fire all the rounds the T-90 and T-14 can fire... and APS systems on such light armour base would be a waste of time and money.

Trophy would reduce the penetration of an APFSDS round from the Sprut by bugger all... it is not designed to stop APFSDS rounds which will just punch straight through this new American vehicle... much the same as any APFSDS round the M10 fired at the Sprut would likely go through too.

The difference is that the M10 would not be able to take out upgraded T-72s, T-80s, T-90s, or T-14s, while the Sprut could take on any western modern MBT with its gun.

To survive Javelin ATGM, Sprut will soon be rolled out with ERA tiles on top just like the T-72

Whereas M10 would not survive most Russian anti armour systems... even if fitted with Trophy.

    Edit:

Hahahaha... just saw a Youtube video about the M10 and noticed this comment made by a user:

    nobody special
The tank program that was commissioned to make a light tank that could be airdropped by helicopter but instead turned into a light tank that takes as much carrying capacity as an M1 and can't be lifted by helicopter to support the airborne troops it was supposed to. Good job acquisitions on letting the contractors push their profit by making something useless for it's designed purpose.

M-10 won't even survive a RPG 30. APS like Trophy cannot provide 360 degree protection.

Russia should further invest in tank camouflage systems like Nakidka and EW systems that can be placed on top of the tank that can neutralize top attack ATGMs like the Javelin.
