Pakistan's ground forces receive the first regiment of modernized Al Khalid 1 tanks
On July 28, 2020, at the Pakistani state military industrial association Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the Ground Forces of Pakistan, General Kamar Javed Bajwa, a ceremony was held for the transfer of the first regimental set (44 vehicles) of modernized Al Khalid 1 tanks [the staff of the Pakistani tank regiment army usually 44 tanks - bmpd ].
According to a press release, the upgrade includes the installation of a new panoramic commander's sight with all-round visibility and a 2-plane stabilized combined (day and night) gunner's sight. Also, the modernized tanks have increased ammunition, installed Ukrainian power plants with a 6TD-2E engine (1200 hp). Equipping with the new ERA AORAK Mk.2 is provided.

Kharkiv plant to repair and modernize T-80UD tanks for Pakistan Army.
In Ukraine, the modernization of one of the versions of the T-80 tanks has begun. We are talking about the main battle tank in the T-80UD modification, which was developed in Kharkiv in the 1970s as object 478B "Bereza" (Eng: Birch) – a tank with various variants of a diesel power plant. The initial version of the T-80UD MBT was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1987.
At the state enterprise "Zavod im.Malysheva" started modernization of the T-80UD. At the same time, Pakistan ordered the modernization and repair of tanks. The information was confirmed by the General Director of Ukrspetsexport Vadym Nozdrya. According to him, the contract includes the purchase of components for carrying out repair and modernization works.
The price parameters of the contract are also named. According to the latest data, Pakistan is ready to pay $ 85.6 million. A third of the amount in the form of an advance payment from Islamabad has already been received. However, there is no exact data yet on exactly how many T-80UD tanks will be repaired and upgraded at the Kharkiv enterprise for the Pakistani customer.
Some parameters of repair and modernization are named. So, it is planned to install new engines and gearboxes. The chassis will also be updated.
For reference: Pakistan has 320 T-80UD tanks. The corresponding contracts were implemented in the 1990s.
Today, the State Enterprise "Malyshev Plant" offers Pakistan to purchase 52 new engines for existing modifications of the T-80 MBT.

Being unable to deliver a single tank to their own units for years, they will repair 320 pcs, right 
Last time when Poland was stupid enough to send them MiG-29 for repair, they simply stole half of it right there

Same with Croatian MiGs, they came back with older parts than the ones they were sent with

This is the Chinese VT-4 tank. It comes with a Chinese 1,200 hp diesel engine and has more advanced fire control system than the older tank. It removes the Ukrainian and Western imported components in the MBT-2000 and replaces them with more modern Chinese ones.
The Chinese engine seems to be a V12 engine, instead of the Ukrainian opposed piston six cylinder engine.
The Chinese have exported it to Pakistan and Thailand. Both used to be customers of Ukraine in terms of tanks. They were also exported to Nigeria.
