They won the elections in 2015, quite common thing in dictatorships right?

But their mandate has been declared null by Supreme Court so nothing they legislate has any validity. It is little more than a social club for high-profile US friends in Venezuela

They would justify it somehow regardless. The members of the opposition, at least the ones vocal on the internet, are extremely embarrassing, one week tweeting from their lovely flat in Paris and the next one starving in Venezuela. Licking Rubio and Bolton boots, asking for a military intervention and claiming they are about to get killed any minute by Maduro's death squads, while living in privilege in Caracas or Miami, freely and openly committing crimes against their country. They want foreigners to rid them of their political enemies at home, yet if a foreigner shows a different opinion about the country they order them to shut up as if we were their servants. They seem to be little more than wealthy folks used to give orders in the colonial tradition and lying thought their teeth 24/7 to get what they want.

Some see it as a descendants of Spanish colonialists (backed by the descendants of US colonialists) verses the native Indians conflict.

I like Russia's response to US regarding Trumps "Russia needs to get out of Venezuela, all options on the table"

Russia was more or less "Show us how we should do it by getting out of Syria first. Anyway, this is a defensive agreement we had since 2001 with Venezuela so you cant make us".

US is just looking so stupid.

MAJOR: Chinese Military Personnel Arrive In Venezuela With ‘Humanitarian Supplies’
    ...
Earlier this morning, April 1st, Chinese leader XJP announced that China was ramping up efforts to eliminate corruption within China, and is preparing for a long and protracted struggle against capitalism and imperialism from the west. China views the development of socialism in Venezuela to be a positive historical effort, which they have expressed consistent support for since 1999.

It's less costly to send the AF An-22/124s & Il-62/96s.
It's all right for the PRC to depend on B-747s but not for Russia.
"We strongly caution actors external to the Western Hemisphere against deploying military assets to Venezuela, or elsewhere in the Hemisphere, with the intent of establishing or expanding military operations," Bolton had warned in his statement.

Ancient Chinese explorers & Buddhist missionaries came to the Americas many times & laborers came starting from the Spanish Empire times; they built US railroads to the Pacific, while their cooks & laundrymen serviced all others. There's a big Chinese diaspora in L. America, China invested $Bs in the region; they have every right to protect them, esp. after seeing what happened to $Bs in contracts Russia lost in Iraq & Libya.

I think we can be certain that within the many supply contracts that were signed by Russia/Venezuela over the past 15 years or so there are many many clauses specifying 'technical support/advisors', plus instances of that support actually being given over the years.

So without doubt all kinds of Russian experts are going to go into Venezuela over the next few weeks/month. The US is just going to have to get used to it.

They are however finding it very tough to match their statements on the sovereignty of Ukraine allowing the Government their to invite in US 'advisors' with their statements on Venezuela not being allowed to do the same. Not that they care as they believe that their actions are always right.

Incidently I read a comment that ABB Power Systems (now part of Hitachi), when they completed the upgrades to the Venezuelan power grid 5 or so years ago, proudly claimed that it was the most up to date in the world. Clearly they hadn't accounted for drones dropping carbon fibre string, allegedly.

They are however finding it very tough to match their statements on the sovereignty of Ukraine allowing the Government their to invite in US 'advisers' with their statements on Venezuela not being allowed to do the same.
More relevant is that US 'advisers' r also already in Colombia, & been there for years. They'll assist in subverting Venezuela.
From their point of view, they have the right to stick their nose everywhere to defend their interests, regardless of every1 else's concerns, under the mantra of "defending democracy, human rights, the rule of law, upholding the Monroe's doctrine, & national security".

When you say "the Government" you probably mean the democratically elected Yanukovich's administration. I have little doubt Russia was happy with good relations with their neighbour. The trade between countries was huge and Russians supported them financially paying for Sevastopol naval base and giving them discounts at natural gas. Russia seems to still believe that coexistence between Russian and Ukrainian part can exist. Any opposing military junta will however have to stand trial for what it has done.

When the US starts defending their rights on Russian border, it only becomes the question of time when Russia will start doing the same. It must be an attractive way of winning votes for the junta, but People of Ukraine seem to be tired of it. It's becoming time to reduce the heat.

Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro has said that if there was a military invasion in Venezuela, he would ask the country's parliament if Brazil should join, Reuters reported.

Bolsonaro has reportedly added that Brazil and the US are trying to sow dissent within Venezeula's army.
